Orienteering training at Yetar Spring. Craig led a group of five of us around the course while explaining what he was doing. I tried to not just follow but look ahead on the map and make a plan for what I would be doing, while also staying in touch with the map and listening to Craig. That worked surprisingly well. There were only a couple of legs on which I couldn't quite work out the direction I would go in ahead of time. I'm pretty sure however, that I would have drifted off Craig's route a bit on some legs if I had been on my own. A very interesting training exercise.

A taped training course on my own. Messed up #3 by drifting too far right and ended up on the wrong boulder. Didn't see the tape, but didn't want to hang around searching for it for too long and continued on. Of course leaving from the wrong spot messed up my next leg to #4 and it took me a while to figure out where I really was. After that the rest of the course went pretty well, except for #13 where I got confused by a larger than mapped clearing (actually ran right past it without seeing the tape). Didn't run the course very hard though, just taking it a bit more careful and trying to implement what I picked up from the run with Craig earlier. Rolled my left ankle on the second last leg. Good I was wearing my ankle braces because it would have been a whole lot worse without them, but I do have some swelling on the top of my foot near the ankle now.

Control flow exercise in Kings Park organised by Rachel. Alternate laps with and without reading a map of HPD. Dale set a solid pace in the warm up, while I wasn't feeling very well. Improved a bit, but never felt great. Still, enjoyed getting out for a run after a very busy few days.
