First leg of the club relays at JFNP. Turned out I was on the same course as Craig, which I only realised half way around. He got #1 first, but I got a healthy lead thanks to a different route to #2. Was a bit slow on #4 and Craig got close to me again, but I picked the better route to #5 (along the railway trail) to get away again. All the rock surfaces were so slippery due to the rain that it was pretty slow going. Craig caught up and overtook with a better line into #9. His routes to #10 and #11 were probably better than mine too and he got away (but he did help me realise that #10 was misplaced). At #12 I caught up again and we were together until the end (different routes to #14 didn't make any difference). After downloading the system showed a mispunch for me at #7 due to a malfunctioning brick. Good thing Craig had been right behind me there, so we were quickly reinstated.

Andries had gotten away from Simon, so I was in the lead on my own on this third leg. Lost a bit of time on #2, but it was a decent run through the middle section. A bit slow and careful again in the slippery bush areas where Craig caught back time on me, but when I was coming into #15 I saw him on the way to #11, so I knew we had a healthy lead and all I had to do was play it safe. In the end we won with a five minute lead over Craig and Simon. Third relay win in the last four years.

Walk/jog around North Ledge. Planned to run all of the unmapped MTB trails, but that proved impossible because there were so many. It would also be impossible to map them all legibly at 1:10,000, so they'll have to remain unmapped.

Training at Perry Lakes. First two tempo laps around the Camel Lake trail, followed by hill intervals on Tuart walk. Had to memorise a leg of a course before each rep and draw it from memory upon returning. Thought the sprint map would be easiest to memorise, but I think I did a bit better with the bush maps.
