Long run down south, approximate time in [2]. Not a lot of snow was left in the fields. Still a good bit left in the forest though. There was a fair bit of water to step through, but it was ankle-deep or deeper in only a few places. Timberland was nicer than I was expecting... mostly snow-free, and it wasn't thoroughly wet/muddy.

Around the long trail (lap time 29:05) and short trail (11:49). I drove over to the park. The temperature just barely went below freezing overnight, so I wasn't sure if the ice surface on the lake would be firm. This will probably be my last ski for the season, conditions aren't getting any better.

Around the long trail (26:47) and short trail (10:33). The surface was frozen again after quite a bit of melting the past couple days. Conditions were fast but poor. About 1/3 of the long trail had been snowmobiled over, the track was very shallow in places, and there was some debris on the trail.

Along roads. Too slow again, unless I can say the 35 km/h wind justifies my slowless. But it was a side wind most of the time. I suppose the jogging pace on the 1520 deserves some explanation... I had a headwind for the first 1/3, was barely moving at times when strong gusts came, and then didn't recover.

Long run down south. Felt quite good, except for a bit of soreness in the beginning. A few unusual things had been going on... a couple sections of trail had been plowed (both from a road to a ditch crossing), a bunch of trees alongside a trail had been cut down, and there was a licence plate (expiry Sep 07) in the snow along another trail.

Then ran on other roads and was much slower. There was some ice and wind, but not enough to justify my slowness. Gave up on the last couple I had planned to do... should have kept going though, don't need to get in the habit of quitting when things don't go that well.

Slower parts of the run. Nice, warm morning. Ran up the river along nice snowmobile tracks to the first bridge. There weren't any tracks past the bridge, so I didn't carry on along the river. Went along the roads instead to the second bridge, where I saw some old tracks leading upstream. Followed them for a couple minutes until they ended at a large fallen tree. Then went back to the second bridge, along the roads to the first bridge, and back along the river. Took a bunch of pictures, and they're on my site.
