Thursday Jul 11

Orienteering 52:40 [2] 3.25 km (16:12 / km)
12c
Model event 2, Bruderheim map. I got all the controls in the order 1-9-2-5-8-3-11-4-7-6-12-10. It was hot and I only ran/walked in the beginning and walked from 6 to the start/finish. I lost about 5:00 on control 1 (perhaps I shouldn't admit that) and 2:00-3:00 while going from 4 to 7.
Orienteering 24:21 [4] 3.27 km (7:27 / km) +60m 6:49 / km
spiked:15/17c
University of Alberta Park-O. I lost around 0:10 seconds on control 9 when I continued running south after crossing the road and at least 45 seconds on 11. I actually won one leg against the elite men, a leg on which I could have been at least 0:01 faster, but is was only the run-in.

Long - Splits

Wednesday Jul 10

Orienteering 19:02 [4] 3.37 km (5:39 / km) +45m 5:18 / km
spiked:9/9c
APOC Classic, S L Ranch map. I had a good run (only 10 seconds in lost time) and won.

Monday Jul 8

Orienteering 22:03 [4] 3.56 km (6:12 / km)
spiked:13/14c
APOC relay at Mount Laurie, 4 point leg 1. Did okay except for 7-8 where I went way too far south and ended up at the powerline, 75 m (a blind guess) south of the bend. Probably lost about 1:00. I believe I finished 14th out of 34.

Sunday Jul 7

Orienteering 19:16 [4] 2.93 km (6:35 / km) +60m 5:58 / km
spiked:9/10c
Canadian Champs Day 2, Mount Laurie. Much better than yesterday. I lost 5-10 seconds on control 2 when I went back to visit a control that I didn't think was mine. I might able to be a few seconds faster on 7 and 8 if I had took the trail rather than going striaght (7) and approached the control from the west rather than the south (8). I won the 2-day total by over 12 minutes among Canadians and by about 3.5 minutes overall.

Saturday Jul 6

Orienteering 22:33 [4] 2.55 km (8:51 / km) +60m 7:55 / km
spiked:9/10c
Canadian Champs Day 1, Fallentimber Meadows. I lost 30+ seconds on control 2, 45+ seconds on 5 and overall wasn't sharp. I was still the first Canadian by 4:52 and 2nd overall, 4:38 behind Erik, a Swede, who was running up a category.

Friday Jul 5

Orienteering 34:11 [1] 2.44 km (14:01 / km) +120m 11:15 / km
spiked:8/10c
Paskapoo Slopes Park-O.
