Sunday Mar 25

Long run down south, approximate time in [2]. Not a lot of snow was left in the fields. Still a good bit left in the forest though. There was a fair bit of water to step through, but it was ankle-deep or deeper in only a few places. Timberland was nicer than I was expecting... mostly snow-free, and it wasn't thoroughly wet/muddy.

Over to the park, up and down the hill 8 times, and back.

Friday Mar 23

Around the long trail (lap time 29:05) and short trail (11:49). I drove over to the park. The temperature just barely went below freezing overnight, so I wasn't sure if the ice surface on the lake would be firm. This will probably be my last ski for the season, conditions aren't getting any better.

Thursday Mar 22

Around the long trail (26:47) and short trail (10:33). The surface was frozen again after quite a bit of melting the past couple days. Conditions were fast but poor. About 1/3 of the long trail had been snowmobiled over, the track was very shallow in places, and there was some debris on the trail.

Same as Tuesday, except for the wind. It was about half as strong this time and only affected me, as a headwind, on the 1520. Along roads. Too slow again, unless I can say the 35 km/h wind justifies my slowless. But it was a side wind most of the time. I suppose the jogging pace on the 1520 deserves some explanation... I had a headwind for the first 1/3, was barely moving at times when strong gusts came, and then didn't recover.

Around the long trail twice (30:18, 31:05) and short trail once (13:33). Conditions were still good, and I hope the warmer weather that's supposed to start tomorrow doesn't make the trails deteriorate quickly.
