Through the park and along the roads for a bit.

Tuesday Dec 25

Running 54:00 9 km (6:00 / km) +170m 5:29 / km
shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D old
Around the park, and along the roads for a bit too. Ran the hill loop 7 times, avg 1:39. Had put some more shoe goo on my shoes to mend general wear & tear... will see how long the stuff can extend the life of these well-used shoes.

Monday Dec 24

Running 2:10:00 22 km (5:55 / km)
shoes: Saucony Grid Excursion TR 2
Down South, through the western swamp and around the trail loop to the west and back through timberland. Was able to follow snowmobile or ATV tracks most of the way. Ran with wet feet for all but the first 30 seconds... the ice on the lake is mushy on the surface in too many places. Feet were still warm enough despite the -15°C temperature. About halfway through the run, I went through the ice on a mucky puddle in a swampy area. Had my sweatpants on so it wasn't too bad, they soaked up the water and didn't cling to my legs. Was a bit weird running with the bottom part of my pants frozen stiff though. Had lots of ice and snow frozen on my shoes by the end. Needed the hairdryer to thaw out the laces so I could untie them and take my shoes off!
Skiing 52:00 8.5 km (6:07 / km)
Long trail (28:45) and short trail (11:45). Excellent (though not fast) conditions as the trails had been groomed less than 40 minutes before I went around.
