Strength Training (WAC) 1:00:00 [2]
Weightlifting at the WAC. Full upper body and Squats. Had to work around the injured hand so took it easy.

Tuesday Aug 14

Spinning (WAC Spin class) 1:00:00 [2] 17.0 mi (3:32 / mi)
Spin class at the WAC. First time. Pretty decent leg workout but unfortunately I was right behind two noisy hens training for the Danskin. They seem to think it was ther own private lesson and kept interrupting the instructor with questions and comments. Their best line. "I fixed my own flat tire yesterday! It's the first time I've done that, I usually just call a cab."

Saturday Aug 11

Trail Running race (Cougar Mt Trail Run) 1:40:00 [4] 8.0 mi (12:29 / mi) +1500m 4:54 / km
shoes: Salomon XA Pro XCR #1
Ran, or attempted to run the 13 mile Cougar Mt trail run. Unfortunately got up to much speed on the down hill stumbled and fell hard. I looked down to see the end of my left index finger pointing directly back at me. F&%K! It had hyper extended and dislocated with such force that it had ripped open the skin on the underside of the joint. I literrally thought I broke the damn thing off! Luckily it popped back into place but when bending it back to normal I basically enclosed a lot of dirt in there. Thanks to my budding nav skills I was able to pull out my map and take the most direct route back to the start. The Seattle Running club people were great and gave me a ride out of there to the ER. Later getting it scrubbed at the ER the doc had to ask for a toothbrush to scrub the junk out.

I think looking back my legs were too fatigued to be going that fast on the downhill. I couldnt get them back under me when I stumbled. I definitely will be more catious next time... and I obviously need to train more.
