Belmont Regional Park again, on bike. Similar loop to Monday picking up different set of fence changes. Noted a lot more clearing which I've got well enuf for MTBO but will need more work for foot-o. If there's a ever a planner brave enough to go down into the big valley. We don't NEED to use the new woolshed ALL the time. Cooler today, perhaps 20deg, quite strong wind and worried that I could lose my 3 sheets of map when I had to reshuffle and reclip onto mapholder.

Belmont Regional Park, on bike. Checking tracks and fences, and found quite a bit of improved vegetation. (Farmland, can see a long way, and gorse patches have been cleared, and some hopeless areas fenced off - perhaps they contain native vegetation.) Temp high 20's in the valley but the breeze made it pleasant up there, and there was no incentive for pushing hard.

U-Max Eastbourne. Beeline 6.0 actual only 10% longer which surprised me. Not a bad little course making use of beach and a little sand-dune area ("cover all tracks in any order", that was 300m and took about 3min05). R h/string has been making itself felt since last weekend, not a twinge like a year ago but a stiffness after sitting for a while, and dull ache when starting to run, easing as the run goes on.

Lower Hutt Parkrun. Pretty warn, no breeze. Splits 5.25, 5.25, 5.19, 5.32, 5.12. Why is km#4 always slower than the rest? Why does the parkrun website refuse to produce the table, long after it can do todays header, volunteers etc?

More Catchpool Valley. Session in two parts approx. 5:20 and 2:20. Did Graces Strm and finished the gate area. Warm but prob only mid 20's. Some spots of rain during the day which became a little more significant towards the end. Was lucky to finish as basemaps were unprotected paper, and the rain seemed quite heavy as I drove away. But maybe just the effect of moving at 80kph instead of 2.

Catchpool Valley, plenty of vege tweaks at the upper carpark and only got half the area at the gate done. Hope I can finish that and do the Graces Stream zone in one further trip. Lots of bush which is marginal between 406 and 408. Poss 30 deg but not too bad in the bush.

U-Max Wainui, shadowing Alex B, all at a walk. Dist is beeline, actual prob 4-ish. Tiime guessed. Climb (counting contours) prob accurate. Good attendance of 8.

Two bridges with hill tracks and BT loop. Slight drizzle, comfy temp but humid. Not hard, prob effort 3.5-ish to start with. But always tempting to push up T Road since the end is nigh. Legs felt a little stiff, hard to accept that yesterday's low-pressure excursion had much of an effect. Splits 9.54, 8.39, 7.22, 6.20, 7.00, 6.41, 6.33, 6.31, 9.02, 7.52, 1.25 (last 0.2km). V similar to 22 Nov but a bit slower in the middle half and faster 1st 3k and last 3k.

Prime purpose to get the ribbons from Sunday's U-Max. Delightful mist up on Belmont Regional Park, without being cold or windy. If only we could organise this to order. Looked for but failed to find rumoured new DH track. Rode in from Normandale Rd with various excursions on foot.

U-Max Belmont Regional Park, with Gail Ives and two Swedes Matthias and Annette. Distance actual not beeline, wearing boots and backpack. Not counted was 700mX2 walk in from carpark, and abt 40m walk putting out ribbons. Fantastic day up there.
