Great Forest Rogaine on MTB with Chris Gelderman. Hard to plan a good route due to directionality, and perhaps the offset of the two pages of the map. There were 100-pointers and the next value was 70 which suggested trying harder for those biggies. And then long transport sections to the next cluster. Still, a good day out. Fine weather, and the temp was warm for July.

A potter on the bike round Petone while waiting for the car - Shandon golf course etc. 12 deg and fine.

Two bridges without hill tracks. Maybe a bit stiff in the bum or hips, but anyway not wanting a hard run. Splits 8:15, 6:05, 6:40, 6:33, 6:22, 6:29, 10:23, 6:14 (0.8km).

Mapping on the bike. Home to Janus Bakerij via Wairere track; pause; up the east side of the Hutt River Avalon-Pomare checking the map; then to Dry Creek via Sstrm Br; walk up stream to waterfall and rtn; onto west side river trail to Belmont; footpaths home incl walking up Pomare Rd

Home block. Put off going until after dark, promised to make it easy on self with high cadence, and it was fairly comfortable. Effort praps 3.5 Splits 8:08, 5:43, 7:52, 6:39. Cadence btwn 170-180 for most part.

Rivendell. The detail round the Norbett Ck camping area, then some off-track stuff. No surprise finds. The Norbett Creek terrace is passable, though only 140X90m and 35m climb to get there. Didn't see anything that could have been a control feature.
