Mapping 5:43:00 [1] 10.1 km (33:58 / km)
shoes: Vasque Grand Traverse #2

Petone urban mapping. Took a break about halfway. H/s fine, tho 100% flat.

Running race 34:13 [2] 5.0 km (6:51 / km)
shoes: Vasque Grand Traverse #2

Lower Hutt Parkrun. Took it easy from respect for H/s, Glen W kept me company. Felt a little "odd" (a level below "niggle"). More "tired" feeling than anything. So reasonable outcome.

Orienteering race 35:00 [2]
shoes: Vasque Grand Traverse #2

A day best forgotten. L H/s didnt feel great after Sat's mapping (tho fine after parkrun). So laid off the running and made a physio appt. Which was today - got some variations on the strengthening exs but when I came back to the car someone had damaged the front corner. Then at tonight's sprint at Tawa College the h/s didnt feel great again, and after getting to #16 and not seeing a 17, but there was a double circle nearby, i finished. Only to find there was more course on the back. They let me go back out, but I didnt have the will to race. To add insult to injury, my first finish had turned my SIAC off and I had to find the hole after that.

Still, there were slower people. And some who missed out a control. Finding the next control on the map is proving to be a major challenge. Even with the two-map layout, lines went through circles (and were of course cut) making it impossible just to let the eyes follow the line - its a matter of searching the map for the next number.
