Glendale short run.
The heat and humidity are back. Nice breeze makes the shade tolerable.
Run 17:16 [3] 2.0 mi (8:38 / mi) +15m 5:15 / km
shoes: ASICS #2
Had meant to get a quick drink after the 3.5 run and head back out for another 2, but talked to a neighbor for about 10 minutes and then went back out...

I recently got a wicking bandana from Duluth Trading Post. An endorsement in the catalog was something like "I'm bald and I sweat like a freak". Good description of me, so if it worked for him.... I've used it twice now and it works great! No more sweat in my eyes.
Cycling (MTB on the road) 1:15:00 [4] 25 km (3:00 / km)
weight:172lbs shoes: pearl cycle MTB

Needed to pick the car up from the shop near Big Bend and Clayton. Laura and Benj went to see Lion King at the Fox.
Seemed like a good time to go for a ride.
Didn't want to ride directly there, would have been too short (25-30 minutes).
Opted for Adams, Ballas, Clayton, Big Bend.
Got started a little late so had to get the lights out which made me a little later.
Remembered there's a cold stone creamery in Kirkwood not far off the route. I've never been to one. Seemed like a good idea. Made me a little later. Good strawberry ice cream! But a little expensive, although it was a huge serving.
Got to the car about 21:30...
Car thermometer said it was still 87F.
Felt ok as long as you were moving. Legs mostly recovered from Seattle.
Strength 30:00 [3]

Note
weight:172lbs (rest day)
I caught the leg of my desk today with the 4th toe on my right foot. It was far from the worst toe stubbing I've done, but I'm starting to wonder if I broke something.

Early on, walking on it caused kind of a needle stick pain right up the center of the toe. Not bad, but enough to be annoying. Now, about 5 hours later, the toe feels weird. Doesn't look swollen, but feels kind of like there's something between the toes....
C • Uh oh... 4
Note

BTW: Going on a cruise is a great way to gain weight. I felt lucky to come away just +5. I'm curious about the average gain. There were many, already very overweight people eating huge quatities at the buffet. The plates were the size of small trays.

Tuesday Jul 24

Cycling (MTB on the road) 20:00 [1] 3.0 mi (6:40 / mi)
slept:5.0 weight:172lbs shoes: salomon 3D
Ride to the dentist and back.

Just an easy spin to loosen up the legs which are still toast from Seattle. Expected a sore butt, but not at all. More than a little surprising after 15+ hours of riding two days ago. The saddle on Deb's bike was a women's specific Terry. May take a look at the Terry men's saddle.

Laura's dad passed away last night. Her mom called at 2AM so didn't get much sleep....
C • Sorry to hear that 2
