| Stopped by the house after the early ride to pick up Laura and cousin. Road Grant's trail.
Coming back got stuck by a train. Just as it was about done, another comes along from the other direction. those 10 minutes aren't in the time total. Curious thing, human behavior: Guy in car stops short of the tracks about 75-100 meters. I do the same thing to avoid the noise. When the 2nd train comes along, he throws it into drive, rabbits the 75 meters and slams on the brakes, stopping with the nose of the car underneath the traffic gates. |

AOWN event: Still dark. Flying down a little hill on a residential street. Surprised a large bird grabbing a snack on some roadkill. It was a bit slow on the takeoff. First impression, owl, but might have been a hawk. Either way, a collision was narrowly avoided as it passed just under my bar-end and up past my leg. |

| I was going to wait a few more days, but what the hell... A short, slow cruise around the hood. Even took the dog (which made her very happy!).
Stuck with an easy heal-strike stride. Ankle felt ok but I'm landing more on the outside of the right heal than normal. Had a sort of 'buzzing' sensation in the toes for the first half mile and then it went away. Was really worried about toe #4, but no problems even though it's still really swollen. Tried running on turf for about 50 feet. Limited lateral stability. |
