a blistering pace!

Wednesday Dec 19

Note
slept:8.0 weight:161lbs (rest day)
Giving the knees another day off, at least from running. May go for a ride later.

I thought the weight would have gone back up a little given the amount I've eaten in the last 3 days....

Tuesday Dec 18

Note
slept:8.0 (rest day)
Right knee sore.

Monday Dec 17

Stretching 10:00 [1]
slept:8.5 weight:161lbs
Run 43:35 [2] 5.51 mi (7:54 / mi) +90m 4:41 / km
shoes: ASICS
Glendale Firehouse loop.

20F, light breeze, bright sun. Beautiful.

Wore same as yesterday, but the sunshine was warm. The insulated tights tend to slide down a little because they're a bit too big. Don't think I'd want to wear them on a longer run.

Roads were all clear. Along Manchester was bad; the plows buried the sidewalks with lots of slush that froze solid overnight. Rough, uneven footing. Had to run in the traffic lane for a short way.

Legs felt really slow so I was surprised at the time when I finished. I'd have guessed at something closer to a 9 minute pace. I don't think I've fully recovered from the tummy bug yet. Pretty low on E at the moment.

Right knee was painful at the end.

Sunday Dec 16

Stretching 10:00 [1]
slept:7.5 weight:160.4lbs
Pre-run
Run 27:45 [2] 3.0 mi (9:15 / mi) +60m 5:25 / km
shoes: Montrail Vitesse #2
Easy pace weaving through the slush and puddles.

Sidewalks had about 5 inches of snow on top of slush and water so stayed out in the street. Some of the roads were still really sloppy, but most were ok.

25F and windy. Sun came out during the run. Opted for the insulated tights and heavy base-top + wind shirt. Would have been overdressed for a longer run or faster pace.

A lot of snow blowers in use after at least 5 years of taking up space in the garage.
Strength 30:00 [4]
shoes: Montrail Vitesse #2
Snow shovelling. Wet underneath and it was sticking to the shovel, made for heavy work in some spots.

Supposed to be 40 tomorrow. Snow won't be here long.
Cardio 30:00 [3]
Snowball fight! Worked up a better sweat than I did on my run this morning....
