Cycling 1:40:00 [3]
slept:8.5 weight:163lbs shoes: Trek 930
A great morning for a ride and no 141 bridge!!!

Lots of hills. Lindeman, Ballas, Carmen, Big Bend, Marshall, Ann, & Adams. Legs were a bit tired from last nights hills.

Hadn't ridden the 930 for a training ride in a while. Decided I should minimize the wear and tear on the Cake. Need to get a riser to get the bars up a little. Maybe a new saddle. Quite a different ride from the Cake.

AOWN: Hawk glided across my path and went after a mouse (i think) on the opposite side of the road from me.
Walking 30:00 [1] 1.5 mi (20:00 / mi)

Cycling (mtb on the road) 45:00 [3] 9.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
slept:5.5 weight:163lbs shoes: pearl cycle MTB
Finally got to ride to work again. Thought the trip was going to be uneventful, but at the last moment crossing the 141 bridge some #$#@head pulled up behind me and started blasting on the horn. Scared the begeezus out of me. Brown van (chevy?): MO 902 SHR. Then he went by me waving his arms and screaming. Thought maybe he was going to stop, but he didn't.

Other than that it was a very nice morning for a ride. Riverwalk trail on the floodplain had a fair amount of ice on it. So much for 36F as a low temp for the night....

Cycling 1:06:00 [4] 19.5 km (3:23 / km)
shoes: pearl cycle MTB
Home from work. Actually got to leave before dark. A novel experience. Did 2 (sloooowww) reps of The Hill and took an alternate route to hit the hills on Ann and Lindeman. Cycling muscles have been idle too long.

Took my HID light today, so no problems with visibility once it did get dark.

Strength (Planks/Bridges/-ups/wghts) 1:05:00 [3]
slept:6.5 weight:163lbs
Walking 25:00 [2]
shoes: Montrail Vitesse #2
To and from car at work. Parked in a remote lot and hoofed it in. On the way out, it started raining/wet snowing the very second I walked out the door. Huge blobs of slush falling from the sky. Ran the last 200m.

Stretching warm up/down 15:00 [1]
slept:5.5 weight:163lbs
No snow on the roads! Makes running to work a lot easier.
Run long 1:19:20 [3] 9.0 mi (8:49 / mi)
shoes: ASICS #2
A pleasant morning for a run, had to watch the footing though. Only notable was going through a layer of ice into a 8 inch deep puddle of water. Soaked both feet at mile 5 or 6. Marshall road past Simpson Park. Big truck coming so moving onto shoulder seemed like a good idea even though the driver was giving me space. Didn't notice the transition to ice with the dusting of snow on top. First step got toes on right foot. Left went in above the ankle. Next step got the right to about the same depth. Glad I had my heavy wool socks on....

Fortunately the humidity in the office is about 20%. Socks and shoes are already dry thanks to a little help from a fan.

28F, 8 MPH wind. UA s/s top, thermal l/s top, tights, heavy wool socks, n2s vest, knit gloves, balaclava. Dropped the vest about half way.

6 lb pack.

Time was a little slower than I expected, but the wet heavy feet were a distraction I guess. Had pretty good luck with lights.

Splits:
Marshal: 29:49
Levee: 23:21
141: 10:48
Tower Plaza: 15:21
Walking warm up/down 10:00 [1]
It's about a 5 minute walk from my office to the bldg where the showers are. It's a good cool down walk. The walk back from the showers is good for staying loose.
Stretching 10:00 [1]
shoes: ASICS #2
Pre-run home.
Run 1:00:34 [3] 7.25 mi (8:20 / mi)
shoes: ASICS #2
7 pound pack.

I left work at almost 18:00. Had some light down to 141 but that's about it. Don't really like running Marshall Rd in the dark. Maybe I'll start using my HID light for the run home. It's good for stopping on-coming traffic; they can't tell what's behind the light....

Laura decided to be extra nice and picked me up with 1.75 miles to go. I felt pretty good. Better than the last run-to-work, run-home combo.

Mice. Hadn't checked the traps for a few weeks due to lack of activity. Was hoping I'd gotten them all. Alas, there were a couple that had been 'caught' for a while. One in a glue trap, the other in a snap-trap. Reloaded all the snappers with PB last night. Got one. Put it in a plastic bag and set it on the back porch to go out to the trash cans. An hour later the bag was still there but the mouse was gone. I'm pretty sure it was dead.....

Had planned to go for a 2 hour bike ride but the roads are wet from the inch or two of surprise snow we got last night.
