| Legs were especially tight this morning. Not sure why....
Woke up a lot last night. Not sure why.... Took the bus to work this morning. Not sure why.... could have ridden the bike in. The weather was beautiful!
| Stretching 10:00 [1] | ||
| pre-ride. | ||
| Cycling (MTB) 1:15:00 [4] 19 km (3:57 / km) | ||
| shoes: Cake 2 DLX | ||
| Matt picked me up from work at 1:30. On the bikes at 2:15.
We rode out to Castlewood. A 40MPH headwind going up hill is a real serious work out. Temp was not bad, but that wind cold bite to it. 0/0. No memorable curteous or rude acts.
| Cycling (trail) 1:10:00 [3] 10 km (7:00 / km) | ||
| shoes: Cake 2 DLX | ||
| Grotpeter, Lone Wolf, the 3% back out of the park.
Broke my chain going up the steep (from the parking lot) Lone Wolf hill near the top. I was cleanin it the best I've ever done too. Not even breathing hard when the break happened. Repaired the chain, but the repaired link was frozen so the ride home was a bit rough. Trails were in really good shape considering the water that's been on 'em the last few weeks. The last bit of trail on Grotpeter, from the last hairpin all the way down along the creek to the road was wet with running water. The creek below the last hairpin was flooded to about 2/3's the way to the road. The view from the bluff was pretty amazing. The flooding has scoured the flood plain (where it was visible). Very little debris was left behind. Just bare dirt and rock. The far side of the river was under water, so flood plain part of Chubb will be out of commission for a while longer. Park road is closed at the RR tracks.
| Cycling (MTB on the road) 1:10:00 [3] 19 km (3:41 / km) | ||
| shoes: Cake 2 DLX | ||
| Back home from the 'Wood. Of course the wind, now that it was at our backs, had calmed a bit, but at least it hadn't changed directions....
Chain was slipping every 2.5 turns of the crank... Felt strong getting off the bike. Wish I'd time for a run. It was real nice having company for the ride! 1/1.
Thursday Apr 10 | ||
| Walking 30:00 [1] | ||
| slept:8.0 (rest day) shoes: Vasque Blur | ||
| Walking to and from car at work.
Woke up at 3:30 this morning with a massive cramp in the left calf. Worst I've ever had I think. Was dreaming that a dog was biting me.... It's still sore this evening. Meramec is suppose to crest at 31 feet on Sunday. Second major flood of the year. No paddling anytime soon.

| Stretching 12:00 [1] | ||
| slept:6.5 | ||
| includes foot stretches and exercises.... | ||
| Cycling 48:00 [3] 15.7 km (3:03 / km) | ||
| shoes: Cake 2 DLX | ||
| In to work...
Adams, Kwood, DF. Lights were not especially kind. 1/0. 120psi in rear main spring.
| Cycling 1:08:00 [4] 22.5 km (3:01 / km) | ||
| shoes: Cake 2 DLX | ||
| Left work later than planned so didn't ride as long as I had planned.... but a good ride it was. Strong on the hills so threw in a few extra. Should have bought a lottery ticket; all the lights were green for me from 44 all the way to DF & Ballas. That's like 9 lights!
I've decided the best time to cross the 141 bridge is at the height of traffic. Then the cars are all backed up for the lights and I can go as fast as, or faster, than they are. Feels safer anyway. 0/1, but the rude guy was being rude to everyone. Halfway pulled over to make a phone call (I think), but his humongo SUV was still doing a great job of blocking the only traffic lane. Just on the east side of the DF 270 overpass.
Tuesday Apr 8 | ||
| Stretching 10:00 [1] | ||
| slept:7.5 | ||
| Strength (Planks/Bridges/-ups/wghts) 1:05:00 [3] | ||

| at work... The walkway across 44 is about 130 meters, for those dying to know.... | ||
| Note | ||
| There goes all my grass seed... about an inch of rain fell in the last 3 minutes.... | ||
Monday Apr 7 | ||
| Walking 35:00 [1] | ||
| To/From car + walk at lunch. | ||
| Stretching 10:00 [1] | ||
| pre-ride | ||
| Cycling (trail) 15:00 [3] 1.25 km (12:00 / km) | ||
| shoes: Cake 2 DLX | ||
| Went out to West Tyson to ride Chubb. Started out and decided tires were too low and rear shock way to full. Added air to tires, let a little out of the shock. Turned out to be a little too much... | ||
| Walking 15:00 [1] 1.25 km (12:00 / km) | ||
| shoes: pearl cycle MTB | ||
| ..... shock completely bottomed out when I got back on. Walked back to the trailhead and called it a day. | ||
Sunday Apr 6 | ||
| Cycling 42:00 [3] 14 km (3:00 / km) | ||
| slept:10.0 shoes: Cake 2 DLX | ||
| Was going to do a longer ride, but my legs were really dead from the hills yesterday, so did a short and easy loop on a few hills and headed home... | ||
| Strength (Raking thatch) 30:00 [2] | ||
| Another feable attempt to displace some crab grass.... | ||
