Lot's of driving B around: new violin, his final baseball game of the year, ice cream shop with the team. A stop at REI.

Laura has picked up a bug of some sort. Fever and chills. Hopefully not tick borne.

This morning after getting up...

There was another earthquake (3.5) last night about 3AM-ish. Woke up just as it was ending, so don't know duration or the local intensity.

Pre-run
Run 1:10:06 [3] 7.19 mi (9:44 / mi)

Route.

Home from the car repair place at Big Bend and Dale.

13lb pack. Tried the blowfish. I've run with it lot's of times, but not with 13 lbs. I think it will work ok for the rogaine.

It was hot. 92F, 55% humidity.

Weight :163.5 at start. 160.0 at end.
Pack: 13 at start, 10 at end.

Consumed 3lbs water from pack + a good amount at Tilles park and still lost 3.5 lbs!!! So about 7lbs of fluids lost in an 1:10:00. If my math is right, that's a rate of 96 oz per hour. That's my highest recorded fluid loss rate. Remind self never to run a marathon in hot weather.

I was really starting to feel the dehydration the last couple miles.

Got this too... bad sock choice.... 2nd toe, left foot:

Nail might be history....

Wednesday Jun 4

Stretching 20:00 [1]
slept:6.0 shoes: ASICS #3
Run 1:32:46 [2] 10.0 mi (9:16 / mi)
shoes: ASICS #3
To work + a little extra for a wrong turn, well actually, the path was closed, on a new route. Legs felt a little tired at beginning..... kind of tired in the middle too.... tired at end as well.... hmmm, I guess the hill run on monday?

Full pack.

Easy pace, I have to do 3 miles to get home tonight and another 8 tomorrow from the car repair place.

Adams to DF to 141 and then through Buder Park.

Another big storm last night about 3; wind, lightning, lots of rain. Power blinked once. Grassy areas to wet to run on so lots of concrete. Lotsaconcrete, lotsaconcrete, lotsaconcrete in time with foot strikes....

I think my regular race pack will be too roomy for the upcoming rogaine, but I don't really have anything that will work better. It flops around a lot if it's not reasonably full so I'll have to figure a way to cinch it down.
C • I have some smaller packs y... 7
Walking 25:00 [1] 1.8 km (13:53 / km)
Lunch time + a few flights of stairs. Mostly to keep the legs loose after the run this morning....
Run 18:25 [2] 2.0 mi (9:12 / mi)
shoes: ASICS #3
Home from the bus stop at BB and Elm.... Temp didn't seem so bad but it was humid.
Stretching (passive) 10:00 [1]
pre-run home
Note
3 AOWN's on the run this AM:

First, a dark colored fox bolted out of the brush and across the road about 20m in front of me in Sugar Creek Valley on Adams.

Later, saw a really big turtle, not a snapper, sitting on the side of the bike trail at Buder Park, almost like it was watching people go by, but I was the only person in sight...

Then a snake in the middle of the road in Buder Park. Maybe a water snake, maybe a copperhead. Maybe 18 inches. Not moving, not smashed. Not sure what was wrong, but since c-heads and watersnakes are very difficult to tell apart without getting up close and personal, I left it alone. I did start paying more attention to what was on the road after that...
Note
Lots of icing the heel the last few days. The PF has been cured, I think, but some other soreness has taken it's place. The muscle that comes down the inside of the leg and under the foot is sore as it goes under the foot. And on the opposite side too. The ART treatments have been effective at controlling the problem, but after the rogaine, I need to get off it for a couple weeks and let it heal.

15 lb pack.

beautiful morning.... sunny & 60 F. Quite warm by 8:30 - already 80F, but I need to check if thermometer is in the direct sun now that we're nearing summer solstice.

Have to check the distance.

Looks like I've lost my AP ranking. Not enough AP'rs attending and/or logging splits combined with lot's of score-o's on the local schedule.
