Terrain 1:19:23 [2]***
12c shoes: Montrail Vitesse #2
Shadowed Benjamin on the orange course I've set up for next weekend. He did a great job!
Terrain (course checking) 35:00 [1]
check a few more potential control locations in FP.

Friday Jun 27

slept:7.0 (injured)
squat! that's what i've done today.... busy day at work. For my approaching departure from Maritz, the group took me out to Dewey's then Ben and Jerry's. 1/2 a 13" EAP and 2 scoops of Cherries Garcia.... I probably gained a couple pounds.

heel is no worse for the bike ride yesterday, but no better either.

Thursday Jun 26

Cycling (MTB) 1:15:00 [3]
slept:7.0 weight:162lbs (injured) shoes: Cake 2 DLX
Castlewood. Warm in the sun, nice in the shade.

Easy ride. Don't know if it's the inactivity, the rogaine, or both, but legs were totally dead.

Meramec is really high... still.... looked like it was flowing backwards. Might be water from Mississippi flowing up into the Meramec basin.

Connector trail from Stinging Nettle to Blue Ribbon was under water at the dip just past the RR underpass.

Stretching (foam roller) 15:00 [1]
slept:7.0
calves
Walking 25:00 [1]

Tuesday Jun 24

Stretching (Foam Roller) 25:00 [1]
slept:7.0 (injured)
lower legs.

Woke up at 6 and decided not to go back to sleep....

Heel felt pretty good at wake up but sore by lunch time. Hadn't done much walking and it seems to be better with a little bit of activity. Also, the water bottle that I was using at work, for icing, sprung a leak yesterday so I had to wait while another froze up. It takes a long time (4 hours) for a 500ml bottle of water to freeze solid enough for use.
Walking 25:00 [1]
No extra staris today, just walking to get some blood flowing in the legs and loosen up the feet.
Strength (Planks/Bridges/-ups) 45:00 [2]

Monday Jun 23

Walking 25:00 [1]
slept:8.0 (injured)
Lunch time at work. +10 flights. Legs complained a bit to start, but seemed ok once I got going. Would like to go for a run....

Heel is a little bit better today, or at least, not as sore as yesterday.

Tough time waking up this AM. 8 hours is right in the middle of a 3rd 3 hour sleep cycle, so I'm usually out stone cold....
C • wish i had that problem. l... 2
Stretching (Foam Roller) 15:00 [1]
ankles and calves before bed time

Sunday Jun 22

Orienteering (course setting) 25:00 [1]***
10c shoes: Teva
Went to FP to check out a redesigned sprint #3. Much better than the original, but I still like 1 & 2 better....
C • nice combo 2
Terrain (mapping) 25:00 [1]
(injured) shoes: Teva
trying to make notes of some of the gardens around WF pavillion.
Note
slept:8.5 weight:162lbs (injured)
Heel is very sore today.... did a lot of walking... grocery stores (TJ's, WF, Dierbergs), helping neighbor with some laminate flooring, house chores.

For dinner: Wild Coho salmon, cous cous with a mango salsa, g beans, Hogue Chardonnay. Simple but good.

From the grocery: Very few packaged foods and only 2 processed foods: BBQ sauce and Curry Simmer sauce.... or is yogurt a processed food? Mostly fruits, veg's, and dairy.
Note
Rogaine update: I checked the math and we actually got 1480 points, not 1400. That moves us into 2nd place for the US Champs male vets category and up a couple spots overall. Gary sent an email to the RD, we'll see if the official standings are updated....
Stretching (Foam Roller) 35:00 [2]
all on the lower legs. calves are really sore.
