Friday Aug 1

Walked to store to get a paper...

Out and back ride. Easy spin on the way out, legs were feeling tired from Wednesday. Found the 'mother-lode' blueberry patch and stuffed my face for about 10 minutes (not included in time). Cranked it up on the way back.
Note
I really don't like the last day of vacation.... but it will be good to be home, for all of 24 hours.

Back out on the road with W on Sunday afternoon for the eastern loop of the grand college visitation tour.

WF Burgers on the grill, homemade buns, TJ mac & cheese, g beans + a 1998 Burgundy. Very tasty. I broke my sisters bread maker.... had to finish the dough by hand....

Still hoping for one last paddle....

clockwise today. Strong wind. Surprised the time wasn't closer to 50 minutes, I wasn't working very hard.

Sunset/Dusk paddle around the lake. Planned to do just an easy (intensity 3) cruise, but felt pretty good cranked it up to level 5 intensity for about 25% of the distance. Last 200m, just enjoyed the calm water and the stars. Was surprised, once again, at the time. I thought it would have been longer.

Wednesday Jul 30

Didn't sleep well; upset stomach. Still don't feel great this AM and HR is a bit elevated.

Same route as Monday with an extra 10K loop through Hale.

Temp not bad but very humid. Wicked wind kicked up about halfway through, of course, a head wind.
Note
Simple dinner tonight: Spaghetti with red sauce, tomatos and mozzarella, salad. Remainder of the challah bread loaf #2.

Was going to go for a paddle, but I'm totally exhausted. Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight.

Around the lake this morning... Had an interesting conversation with a pair of loons who felt I was intruding on their privacy.

Basically a real easy recovery ride with the family. B took a nasty fall and so I headed back to the house with him. He lost some skin on one knee and got a fat lip. Fortunately, his two top front teeth were already missing or the damage might have been worse....

Benjamin got up on ski's (and stayed up) tonight!!!! 3rd try. Came back to the beach and said he wanted to go again to prove it wasn't just luck! It was getting near dark so the pic's didn't turn out so good. But I'll post one tomorrow anyway.

Kept up a brisk pace for most of the ride. Quads and hams were definitely near cramping at the end, but I didn't feel all that tired.

Well, I said I wasn't going to, but the temptation was too great.... 2 skis, not slalom. Legs were a bit tired from the bike ride, so I only went around the lake once.

Wind was pretty mellow. Storm cloud came over so we cut the sail short.

unfortunately, while on the walk, I forgot about the challah bread that I'd made and left to rise in the oven. Remembered it while I was brushing my teeth..... the next morning....
