Note

Yesterday, one of our HVAC units quit working. Today, a water heater started leaking. Expensive weekend.
11 AM

Orienteering race (red course) 1:26:01 intensity: (4 @0) + (1:22 @2) + (15:30 @3) + (54:38 @4) + (14:27 @5) *** 9.19 km (9:21 / km) +246m 8:15 / km
ahr:150 max:175 16c slept:7.0 shoes: OROC 340

red course at hawn. perfect running weather, 50F - partly sunny. fast woods. colorful foliage. about as good as it gets.

First time really running in the woods since the A-meet back in May? Nav was a bit sloppy within the circle, but otherwise not bad. I think I took 2nd. Dave Frei took 1st in 58:xx.

Saw lots of people the first 4 controls but then nobody until Dave came flying by on the way to 10.

Legs still are not ready to climb at speed. Lost a lot of time on the hills. Forgot my running glasses so even at 1;10k, I had to stop to read the map.

Biggest error was at 4. Crossed top of hill and landed to far right of the control. Missed it in the veg on the way back. "Re-located" and hit it right on.

Additional messiness at 5. Overshot the reentrant and had to come back to it.

Took the long way from 14 - 15 to avoid climb, cliffs and stream crossing. No idea how much it cost me.

Will upload splits to AP when my computer comes home on Monday.
1 PM

Clean. Legs were dead.

wacky HR again.

Legs felt tired. Not sure why.

Cycling 50:20 intensity: (22 @0) + (6:35 @1) + (34:35 @2) + (6:08 @3) + (2:40 @4) 12.85 mi (3:55 / mi) +148m 3:47 / mi
ahr:120 max:149 slept:6.0 weight:172lbs shoes: Giant TCX 1

Weight is starting to drift downward! Yea!

Only notable about the ride to work this morning - I was cold for the first 20 minutes. Arm warmers and vest. Didn't wear the coolmax cap cuz it leaves lines on my forehead for a couple hours that resemble horrific scars. Would have been much warmer with it though.

Run 29:19 intensity: (1:03 @0) + (13 @1) + (16:35 @2) + (5:43 @3) + (1:18 @4) + (4:27 @5) 3.11 mi (9:26 / mi) +46m 9:01 / mi
ahr:136 max:205

The Garmin is recording wacky HR's. Maybe the strap needs a new battery???

Reaallly didn't want to get up this morning. But did anyway. At least it was a nice morning for a run.
5 PM

Cycling (Commute) 55:22 intensity: (2:41 @0) + (18:35 @1) + (31:17 @2) + (1:32 @3) + (44 @4) + (33 @5) 12.49 mi (4:26 / mi) +187m 4:14 / mi
ahr:114 max:220 shoes: Giant TCX 1

More wacky HR readings, but it calmed down after about a minute.

Standard route. Resurrecting the +/- scale:

+2 drivers waived me thru stops ahead of them
-1 driver cut me off and stopped dead for a right turn

So a +1 for the ride.
