9 AM

Note
(rest day)

Got dressed for a run but stomach was bothersome by the time I got out the door. Went to the end of our street (150 ft) and decided it just wasn't going to happen. Don't think I've ever done that before.

ahr:127 max:140 slept:5.0 shoes: Altra Olympus 1.5 green

Up til 330 last night for work. Woke up at 830 and couldon't go back to sleep. Too perfect outside to miss out on a run.

Cycling (Commute ) 49:40 intensity: (40:41 @1) + (8:59 @2) 11.26 mi (4:25 / mi) +93m 4:18 / mi
ahr:103 max:129 shoes: Giant TCX 1

Road Kill (almost)

Took Summit instead of BB. About .75 miles longer than taking BB or staying on Manchester. Bellevue + Oakland avoids some long lights and traffic, but have to get across McCausland between traffic.

ss top, ls top, light fleece, vest, 2 pr tights, 2 pr wool socks, lobsters, bala, buff around neck. Just about right for 38*. Duct tape on the mesh bike shoe toes, duct tape on the helmet front air holes.

Very strong WNW tail wind will be a bear on the way home.

Took forever to get out of the house. Could find neither of my headlight batteries. By the time I did find one, it was light enough to go without.
2 PM

Run 53:07 intensity: (4:25 @1) + (32:21 @2) + (9:45 @3) + (5:43 @4) + (53 @5) 6.03 mi (8:49 / mi) +42m 8:37 / mi
ahr:128 max:160 shoes: Fate - Yellow

Central Cortex with a stop in the VC (time not incl)

Very. Windy.
4 PM

Cycling (Commute ) 1:11:14 intensity: (28:40 @1) + (41:45 @2) + (49 @3) 11.5 mi (6:12 / mi) +140m 5:58 / mi
ahr:117 max:133 shoes: Giant TCX 1

lliK daoR via Summit.

Good thing I brought my battery this morning. Didn't leave for home until much later than planned.

The wind was a bear. A negative PR. The bike trail between the Sci Center and Hampton was brutal. 8 mph and I was working my butt off.

After the run, I put all the clothes on from this morning except the lobsters. Overdressed where the wind wasn't. Otherwise it felt ok. Maybe the 2nd pair of tights was overkill.

12 PM

Run (Easy) 58:46 intensity: (2:36 @0) + (5:17 @1) + (25:26 @2) + (9:19 @3) + (9:53 @4) + (6:15 @5) 6.26 mi (9:23 / mi) +41m 9:12 / mi
ahr:133 max:171 shoes: Newton Fate

Central Cortex

Per the forecast, I was expecting sunny and 50*, not 44 and rainy. Rain had stopped by the time I got my running clothes on, but it was still 44 with a cold wind. Had my light vest with me so that was ok, but no gloves. Hands were pretty cold at the end.

ls top, vest, shorts, running hat.

Invisibilia - Batman - blind guy who clicks to 'see'. heard interviews with him before. very interesting.

Life After - ep 4 & 5 - this one has been hard for me to get into. cannot relate to the main character.

Tuesday Dec 27, 2016 #

9 AM

Run long (Easy) 2:01:33 intensity: (11 @0) + (18:36 @1) + (1:16:37 @2) + (26:09 @3) 13.13 mi (9:15 / mi) +94m 9:03 / mi
ahr:127 max:143 shoes: Fate - Yellow

Grants to Tesshire with an extra loop at the end.

38 at the start, 45 at the end.

Ls top, vest, 2xu shorts, 2xu socks, running hat knit gloves.

Running with the wind was warm, into the wind was cold.

Barely a long run with a p stop in grants museum and a couple of walking breaks to queue up audio on the phone.

A day out at the farm.

No youngsters and a small group this year so got to sleep late. Go for a run. Stockings at 1030. Big breakfast at 11. Presents 1130. Nap at 1230. Now at 2:30, sampling my present, a Usquaebach 15 yr blended malt whisky, while starting to work on supper. A fine day so far!
