Early morning, and lack of sleep from EcoSeagate organising. Body didn't like it much.

down to the lake from Phil's.

six times 40 m sprints on sunshine bay track. Sweet. Blister real bad, but I hardened up.

Up the Matuketuke River Valley, checking out the EcoSeagate course for next friday. took all day, did a bit of running. but mainly just walking around and getting a big blister on my big toe.

4 times 5 min. Feeling good. First 2 1/2 were easy.

Warm up before efforts, in between efforts and then an average orienteering session in the forest (see Nick's post) and then a good run home with Tim. I was in a strange mood after the efforts and didn't really help the group other than make negetive comments. Shame, anyway I've got some good exercises planned for my training day.

Note
Missed training today. Worked late and then just couldn't be arsed going out at night. Was really pissed of with myself the next day, especially cos I got the new programme from the super coach and I've already let him down! Was supposed to do 60 min with 40 intensity 4.

Tuesday Feb 19

Running - Off road intervals 18:00 [5]
Pyramids- 2 sets of 1,2,3,2,1 with 1min recoveries and 3min between sets. , good session, everyone was giving it heaps.

I faded at the end and up the short hill. Something the super coach said he will work on.

Sunday Feb 17

Orienteering race 55:00 [4]
Celebre, but was really well set course. Went hard as I could. a few woopsies but happy that I've started to race properly again. Just need to get strong enough to keep pushing after half an hour and to stay in control and not panick when things don't fit.

Did the forest bit of the girls course on Hedley road. Nice course, wasn't smooth but great training. Just what I need to do more of.

Jog over to the map from home with The Viking, Tickle me Elmo, Awesome Lawsome and Timp Daddy.

Jog back, a bit more casual. a few tired legs in the pack.
Hockey 30:00 [2]
A good little game. Team Jager was unfortunatly defeated by Team Elmo, but there is no doubt we looked the best.

Recovery ride, feeling pretty shagged. But no such thing as easy out the back with all the hills. Checked out the track renovations we did this morning. Astro Turf on some of the sandy up hills, very nice.

Summer series Western Springs. Feeling dead wieght in the legs. Speed was more like a level 3 but I was trying like a 4!

Cruise out from Wenderholm to an island for a bit of a snorkle with Karyn in the double.

Fartlek with some good hills. Good session. Wenderholm regional park, some nice little tracks, about 25min around the perimeter track for future reference.

Had an uncontrollable urge to go running instead of going to work.

Weiti. Bugger, I finally started reading the map and felt ok in the legs. However there were a few controls in the wrong place and big green patches not marked making it a unfair and unvalid. Was still fun for me though.

Twisted right ankle on the way to no. 1. swollen and sore after.

Saturday Feb 9

Hedley Road. Went as hard as I could, but that wasnt that fast and my map reading couldn't keep up, stumbled around a bit and managed to get lucky most of the way until I finally lost my head at number 8. Surprised to be in 5th at spectator loop and dissapointed Karl and James passed me on final easy loop. Was fun though, which we had more races like that and I might find the right gear.

Sprint Race Waikato Uni. Felt average, which was disapointing considering I was trying to improve in this disapline. Felt like I have never done any training for it. Made my usual sprint errors as well which is understandable as I haven't done anything to improve that part of my navigation.
