Monday Mar 24

Orienteering race 35:00 [4]
nationals relay. shagged as, couldnt even keep up on the down hill. tom, pip and mark did awesome to bring home nw first! Ross 30.

Sunday Mar 23

Orienteering race 1:38 [4]
Nationals Classic. Had a crap start. Didn't nail any of the first 5, and fucked up on way to no. 3. a couple of minutes. However sounds like everyone else was having more dificulty adjusting to the undermapping. Caught Aaron and Micheal A, at no.6. Winsplits shows me winning at no.9. Then went a dumb way to no. 11. Aaron and Micheal run away and end up putting 5 minutes on me, enough for micheal to beat me by 2min overall. Feeling really really unfit and struggling the whole way. Felt just like the low point of Aussie Champs last year.

Ross 91. Time without mistakes 86. Me 98. 4th.

Saturday Mar 22

Orienteering race 31:00 [5]
Nationals Middle. Navigated awesomely. Struggled physically, but pushed hard the whole way. Chris 28.31 me 31:09 (5th)

Friday Mar 21

Event: New Zealand National Championships

Orienteering race 18:00 [5]
Nationals sprint. Felt like crap. Ran like crap. Navigated pretty badly at times too. Thomas 14.59. Me 16.48 (14th),

Thursday Mar 20

Wednesday Mar 19

Running - Off road intervals 2:00 [5]
10 times 80metres. Felt like crap, legs felt nackered for no reason at all. Basaire.
Running - Off road warm up/down 35:00 [3]

Tuesday Mar 18

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]
good control picking session with Greg at whitelighting.

Monday Mar 17

Note
No training today. Felt good but accidentally started a grass and bush fire at work, so did a bit of overtime trying to put it out. Didn't need the fire crew in the end and didn't quite burn the building down. Close though.

Running - Road warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Saturday Mar 15

Orienteering 1:00:00 [4]
Stillwater, Good session with James, Push pull at race speed. Feeling a bit strange probably more from the wine then sickness. was absolutly spent at 14 and had to jog back. Felt fine afterwards.
Running - Off road 25:00 [2]
warming up down and in the middle.

Friday Mar 14

Note
Had a motivational session with some white wine. Started off quite thought provoking and constructive. Then got a little hazy towards the end of the bottle.

Thursday Mar 13

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]
O training at pot luck. thanks to supercoach for the exercises. I was finding it difficult but ok, then we did some mass starts and I started to feel navigate normally again with the increased speed. Sickness feeling better all the time. Legs feel stupidly good. Stupid legs.

Wednesday Mar 12

Running - Off road hills 10:00 [4]
Hill reps at the domain with all the boys. up next to road behind grandstand. 49, 49,47,48, 48, ,50,48, 49, 50, 50, 49, 47,
Still a bit week from flu, so was just going to see how many I could do before I started dropping of the pace. Turns out I kept going about the same speed and would have been keen for more. The others are doing about 40sec...so I was a bit of the pace.

Running - Off road warm up/down 30:00 [1]

Tuesday Mar 11

Orienteering 45:00 [1]
Temu road, o training with Greg. Both of us recovering from sickness so wasn't any focus on physical effort. Great map for training though.

Monday Mar 10

Note
Felt ok, so tried running. Didn't make it far, still sick I guess, ended up walking after a minute.

Sunday Mar 9

Orienteering race 2:00:00 [1]
Proud that I finished. But not proud of my effort levels. Was going ok through to number five, then just hashed it complety (like most people...so perhaps something is a bit strange there?), but whatever I stuffed up some basic stuff along the way. Sorta lost my mojo a bit after that and walked/jogged most of it from there. Took a while too.
C • 2hrs in nasby sounds painfu... 4

Saturday Mar 8

Orienteering race 49:00 [4]
Naseby, Middle race. Didn't get into map until about 18. Really struggled with it actually.
Orienteering race 21:00 [4]
Naseby, Sprint. Was navigating ok, just stuffed up one...couldn't make the 5m countours fit the shape of the ground. Still can't. Also a bad route choice. Feeling a bit rough with the flu for this race but could jog along allright. Pretty happy really considering how I felt earlier this week.

Thursday Mar 6

Orienteering 50:00 [2]
orienteering training in Celebre. haven't trained since sunday, because I've had the flu. Happy with being able to run ok today.
C • :) 2

Sunday Mar 2

Running - Off road 50:00 [3]
12 mile (lake Whakatipu), out to Bob's Nob, with Phil and Darren. Body not happy with lack of sleep.
