My first O-race (middle distance) Course A. I'm not sure what that corresponds to, but it was hard. Much longer 5.5km than I thought it was going to be too. I ended up after the first hour or so getting pretty dehydrated and had several signifigant muscle cramps that slowed me up considerably. My endurance isn't up to snuff either. Due to illness/injury I haven't been training like I should. A few notes>
I need to "get into" reading the map much earlier. It seems like it takes me the first 2 or three controls to start feeling comfortable...and I tend to lose a lot of time there. I need to get better at reading and running too. Lots of stops to check and plan. GPS shows 1'29"! I really didn't come to compete today...that's a goal for much later in my O-life. When I move up an age group.
Boomed 1 right off the bat. Made a bad route choice to start and had to recover from that.
Overall happy with today. I'll try to analyze what went wrong later. Too tired to think about it now...
