Beautiful day today to get outdoors. Getting over a flu-bug so effort wasn't totally there, nor concentration ability.Terrible outing, but a great time. It was really nice to be back in the woods. We had to copy the control locations onto the map, which was a first for me, and fun. I messed up in the sequence and numbering, so I ended up totally missing the second control #36, I found the 1st control#35 easily, #37 wasn't too bad either. I then tried to find#36, but only after I had realized I missed it, Control #45, I had numbered 46, but found it easy enough. then on the fifth control#46 I took off on an azimuth that was too far north. It took me way too long to do something about my mistake. I had to relocate, and finally found the control. Lost around 16' on that blunder. I ended up playing tag with another couple of guys running together. It helped and hindered, since ocassionally I would see them, think they must have found the control, and they hadn't, but other times the had...two tries at #48 and finally found it. lost another 10' looking for #81 partly because of the two guys, also because I could't find my attackpoint. I finally located it by going to the road, finding the two surveying markers and shooting an azimuth through the green. #31 was a cinch, but #59 proved elusive, but it turns out somebody had taken the control post. Spent 18' minutes looking for that one. I bailed after that and didn't finish, since it was starting to get dark and I knew my wife would be chomping at the bit for me to get home...
Despite not feeling 100% it was really nice to get out and enjoy.

Tuesday Feb 5

Note
(sick)
Besides the flu, now it looks like the meds triggered a gout attack! When it rains it poors.

Sunday Feb 3

Note
(injured) (sick)
My wife's flu is now mine as well. I was hoping I'd get lucky.
