Saturday May 3

Mountain Biking (SingleT Trails Technical) 1:03:03 [2] 14.5 km (4:21 / km) +64m 4:15 / km
slept:5.5 weight:75.9kg
Fun ride. First real VTT of the season. Rode the technical stuff too and actually felt pretty comfortable doing so.

Friday May 2

Running (Hill Fartlek) 57:04 11.2 km (5:06 / km) +84m 4:55 / km
slept:6.5 weight:75.4kg (injured) shoes: Asics Trabuco IX WR
A bit of hill Fartlek. Fun run, but I had to bail on one hill...started out too fast and just couldn't hold the pace to the crest of the hill. Not a terribly hilly course mind you, but the 3 main hills are climbs of about 2.2km. It was actually a shorter one I bailed on, my FR205 had me averaged out around 3'50"/km...slower than my glory days of yore but painful nonetheless.
C • Good pace 3
Armchair Orienteering (Catching Features) 20:00 [0]
Poor Relocation practice...but not being very observant either. On the replay I ran right by the flag.:-(

Thursday May 1

Running (FCP) 38:55 [3] 8.4 km (4:38 / km) +27m 4:34 / km
slept:6.0 weight:76.4kg (injured) shoes: New Balance 872 Trail
Typical fast run after a couple of days of not running. Funny but the toe problem doesn't seem to be a big problem during the run, just the other 23.5 hours of the day.

Wednesday Apr 30

Note
slept:6.0 weight:77kg (injured)
Who would have thought that my toenail could keep me from training? I've lost dozens of toenails in the past, but this time it is staying swollen. maybe a splinter is stuck inside. I can't figure out how a splinter managed to work it's way down my shoe, and through my sock, (with no apparent hole),and underneath my toenail.

Monday Apr 28

Orienteering warm up/down (Control Picking) 51:15 [1] *** 6.5 km (7:53 / km) +35m 7:41 / km
spiked:16/18c shoes: Solomon TrailComp2
Ran the course easy, but got a thorn in my shoe and ended up tearing my big toenail too...ouch. Also developed a nice charlie horse in my left calf...not the most successful warmup. Big miss on #3..again.
Orienteering tempo (Control Picking TT) 38:30 [4] *** 5.8 km (6:38 / km) +37m 6:26 / km
spiked:17/18c slept:7.0 weight:77.5kg shoes: Solomon TrailComp2
Pretty clean with a couple of small bobbles. Couldn't maintain my pace very well either...need to work on that...but A PR for the course.
Orienteering warm up/down 31:56 [1] ** 4 km (7:59 / km) +26m 7:44 / km
shoes: Solomon TrailComp2
Walk/jog the first few controls..boomed 3 again even walking. QR shows me heading too far south and not recognizing the trails that I pass.
