Orienteering ("Race" Initiation) 57:20 [3] *** 6.7 km (8:33 / km) +122m 7:51 / km

Really the only "real orienteering I got in during the week. My plans for the week got really messed up when my wife couldn't make the trip. I ended up camping with the kids alone, which made the logistics of getting to races, competing etc. impossible, and I started off the week sick, soooo, I followed the kids around on the sprint course, which was fun, and I got a bit of a taste of orienteering, and we did a couple of sessions on the training maps at Kerbescont, usually got 4 controls in before turning back again with the kids. Keeping the kids entertained didn't allow much time for socializing and they did have a good time, so it was worth it. My main regret was that Simon and I could have had more time to talk, but he was really busy with the organization for the week.

Orienteering (control Picking) 1:45:14 [2] *** 7.25 km (14:31 / km) +161m 13:04 / km

Since the "race" was on the initiation course and mainly followed trails, I wanted to go out and do all the controls at Kerbescont. Took it easy, stopped to watch a hawk catch a bird, a fox run through the woods. Just mainly tried to navigate well. Didn't do too badly. Fun way to finish out the week.
