Saturday Aug 30

Biking 1:26:00 [1]
shoes: MT31 Shimano
Road a bit with Jean-Loup. He is still having trouble with the hills...but can really get moving on the flats...

Wednesday Aug 27

Trail Run (recovery-map reading) 35:30 [1] * 6.1 km (5:49 / km) +70m 5:30 / km
slept:7.5 weight:77kg shoes: Asics Trabuco IX WR
Reading the map again. I really need a magnifier or something to read a 1:10000 map. Small details are hard to read moving...or standing still for some things.

Tuesday Aug 26

Trail Run (Map reading) 43:01 [2] * 8.1 km (5:19 / km) +54m 5:08 / km
slept:8.0 weight:77.1kg shoes: Kalenji Kaptera XT
Tried reading the map and running at the same time. I was duly impressed watching the good runners this week at the National Champs at their ability to read the map and run at the same time. I tend to read the map standing still or walking then just checking it while I run. Took a map from last week's French National Championship and picked a control, visualized the terrain and tried to pick a route while moving at a normal pace. Seems like a pretty good exercise.
