Orienteering 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: orienteering shoes
We went out to a map that's supposed to be good practice for the long today. My run was a lot better than yesterday; there were lots of distinct marshes and hilltops to check off. There were quite a few mosquitos and these little gnats that were biting us while we had lunch afterwards, but it was still fun.

There are lots of ticks here. I think I'll start logging them :).

Training on the same map as the first day. For some reason I was being spacey and not concentrating enough on the details.

Most of the rest of the team got here last night and this morning.
C • Don't forget to rest, too! :-) 3

Really fun training map! The marshes were great to run in, & one of them was a really beautiful meadow with a bunch of white flowers in it. I'm still having a bit of trouble pinpointing the control once I'm in the control circle, though.

We took a tram out to a map further from the event center today. I thought it was pretty challenging terrain, but it was good to spend awhile longer running in it.

Run 20:00 [3]

We ran over to one of the training maps from the event center. We're staying at a Swedish army base, which is interesting :). The time is made up, but it includes running there and back.

This time is also made up, but it's probably closer to being accurate.

We ran on a map that's supposed to be good training for the Middle. I took it pretty slow, which was good since there are tons of rock features but most of them aren't mapped; even the bare rock is just marked as open yellow.

Sprint training in the evening. Time is made up again.

The map was mostly out-of-bounds since it was in a residential area, so there was a lot of street running, but it was fun to go for a faster run.
