run (trail) 35:00 [3]

easy run with Michelle on trails in Mansfield Hollow. I was tired this day so an easy day was probably good for me. The pace was too slow to make it much of a workout for me though, I want to go back soon and run those trails at a faster pace.

orienteering 1:31:35 [3] *** 7.3 km (12:33 / km)
shoes: Falcon O shoes

Felt great to get out and orienteer at a local meet. I felt a little out of touch with the map in the beginning but got into a good groove after the first couple of controls.

Two larger mistakes. First big mistake was #2. I took what I thought was a safe route so I wouldn't miss the control but still missed it. Had to relocate out to the indistinct trail. Really had trouble reading the rock and contour detail surrounding #2.
Then I overran the finish control and punched a different control instead, then had to run back a couple hundred meters to the real finish control.

Less than 1 min errors in the control circles of 3, 9, and 16.

Those hills killed me. Felt so tired and walked many of the hills during the second half of the course.

biking 40:00 [3] 10.0 mi (4:00 / mi)

Easy ride with Jordan in the afternoon from my house. Lots of traffic because of the woodstock fair but otherwise fun

run (road + trail) 45:00 [3]
shoes: Nike

with Hillary in the morning. Up and around horsebarn hill. She walked most of the hills and I would instead speed up and run them 1.5 times. Near the end she decided to walk the rest of the way back so I ran up to the top of horsebarn hill again and then back to the dorm. Felt great. I've recently found I really like morning runs if I get enough sleep the night before.

run (trails) 17:01 [3]
shoes: Nike

short run with Hillary on trails along the river. I felt really great afterwards. Wish I could have gone farther though, this just felt like an easy warmup. I guess I'll have to get up even earlier on Friday. Afterwards showered in Hillary's dorm and went off to class. Forgot my food in water in the car though. I'm hungry now!
2 PM

run (road) 20:09 [3]
shoes: Nike

usual short loop from the apartment. last time I ran this loop is took me 22:25. Today my goal was to run it in under 20 minutes. 9 seconds slow... not too bad.

felt great and am glad I went

rock climbing 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: 5.10 climbing shoes

Note

wanted to go running today but it never happened. I need to work on making a training schedule for myself and pick a certain time each day to work out. Mornings are probably my best shot. When I wait until later in the day other things often pop up and the run doesn't happen.
