rock climbing 1:00:00 [3]

our boss went home early tonight so the four of us at the climbing center took turns climbing while one person checked people in. Its a one person job but right now he has four of us sitting there at the desk.

my arms were shaking a lot by the end and I had definitely worked up a sweat. Also did pushups and abs with Kevin on the mats.

The last 15 min of work the achilles tendon on my right foot started to hurt, and then walking to my car was really painful. It still hurts now. I have no idea what I did to it, hopefully it will feel better tomorrow but I will be careful running.

Note

leaving for Pawtuckaway this morning. Bringing some UConn students with me to camp out and maybe try orienteering

orienteering 1:12:00 [4] **** 5.3 km (13:35 / km)
shoes: Falcon O shoes

strength (picnic table carrying) 15:00 [3]

while carrying that picnic table I was silently swearing to myself that I would log this as a workout on attackpoint. soo painful and difficult. it was definitely more heavy than other picnic tables I've moved. felt like it took much longer than 15 min but hard to tell. carried it with Vinayak from the pavilion down the path off of the far parking lot up to the up to the other pavilion where we were having the potluck/bbq dinner. I was more sore after this weekend from this than from the orienteering!

run (trail) 1:04:06 [3]

ran about 7 miles (maybe a little more) on trails at Mansfield Hollow.

Goal was to run around the lake. I started out on a small unmarked trail, met up with the blue trail, then the yellow trail. About halfway around the lake I had been running for 28 ish minutes. Then the trail started going perpendicular away from the lake and showed no signs of continuing to curve around the lake. I suspect I was then on the Nipmuck trail, if so I could have kept running on it for perhaps days. So I decided to turn around after 33 min. Retraced my steps somewhat but not exactly.

Note
(rest day)

busy day and I didn't find time to get a workout in

Wednesday Sep 8, 2010 #

Note

woke up too late to go running. I need to start going to bed earlier, which means finding more time earlier in the day for homework.
4 PM

run (road + trail) 9:33 [3]
slept:7.0

warm up from my car to the Young building. got a drink from the water fountain inside then stretched briefly

run (hill workout) 35:00 [4]

hill repeats up horsebarn hill from the start of the dirt road by the Jones building to the highest point on the hill. ran as fast as I could up and jogged down. Even while running I mentally felt like I could push myself to run a little faster, but my body would not cooperate.

Felt good afterward and was glad I had done the workout.

I want a watch that can take splits, but for now what I have will have to do... so I just memorized the splits going up but abandoned trying to remember the jogging down splits too.

run (road + trail) 25:00 [3]

run up and around horsebarn hill with Mike. Was running fast at first but after coming down the hill my stomach started to really hurt. Probably because I had just eaten dinner and then decided to run directly after. A little food before running is just fine for me, but not that much I guess. So I cut the run short.
