Orienteering race 45:23 [4] 5.8 km (7:49 / km) +235m 6:30 / km
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Day 1 of 6 day on Alvie. Not really putting in the effort today, too tired!

Orienteering race 56:30 [4] **** 7.8 km (7:15 / km)
spiked:16/19c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Junior Tiomila. I ran the long 5th leg. Had a pretty good run, making 2-3mins mistakes. I was just so tired and couldn't keep up with some of the guys that went past me.

Orienteering race 22:09 [4] *** 3.2 km (6:55 / km)
spiked:8/13c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Sprint Final. Made multiple mistakes and got caught by 4 mins. This was a disaster but was fairly predictable as I had had another fairly terrible run.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3] ***** 6.0 km (11:40 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Sardines! 5 areas, each containing lots of a certain feature. This was named as the feature that one person had to hide in. One area contained 26 wet pits and Kris hid in one of them. It took 45 mins for everyone to find him!

Orienteering race 1:01:00 [4] ***** 4.7 km (12:59 / km)
spiked:4/8c shoes: Jalas dobs

This redefined the phrase "bad run". Nothing was right, I started by making large mistakes to nos. 1+2 and then another mistake to 3. I was ok to 4 and then lost another 2 mins to no.5. After this I decided that I was not going to make any more mistakes and so took the rest of the course slowly to make sure I was clean. As there was a tour run-in competition I decided that this was my chance to win it (not being tired from moving at a snail's speed for half the course). This "run-in" happened to be 1km long and up a hill and I won it by 32s so that made up for the run a bit.

Orienteering race 19:30 [4] *** 2.7 km (7:13 / km)
spiked:10/13c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Sprint champs prologue. Had a fairly average run, making a few fairly stupid mistakes, one where I overshot the control by 150m because I didn't read the scale (1:5000).

Orienteering race 29:54 [4] ***** 3.5 km (8:33 / km)
spiked:13/15c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

This was a better run, even though I came in 2 minutes down again. However this time, it was because I made 2-3mins mistakes and the guy that won was the second fastest and had a great run. This was fine with me as I was much happier with my own run, compared to yesterday.

Orienteering race 49:19 [4] ***** 5.3 km (9:18 / km)
spiked:9/12c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Tour Champs classic race, and the first half of the course could not have been better. I had the fastest splits to all of the first 4 controls and was winning by 2 1/4 minutes by no. 6 out of 12. I then had a very unlucky error at no. 7, being seen within 3metres of the control and not seeing the moss-covered boulder. This cost me 2 minutes and threw me off track. I then made an even bigger mistake to the next control, losing 6 minutes by making a foolish parallel error down the wrong spur. I partially recovered but made another 2 minute mistake at the 2nd last control to top off a very dissapointing run.
