| Played defense for the first time in my hockey career. My heart rate was way higher than normal as I was extremely worried about screwing up. Luckily our opponents were not super strong so I didn't get pants. 3-0 win for the good guys. |

| FAR champs with La Femme and Leanimal out in beautiful Bon Echo park. Geoff took on the task of course designer in addition to his regular cumbersome duties. The race was extremely fun, with the highlight being the technical mountain bike section. There was also a lot of challenging navigation on the bikes with lots of ATV trails going in every direction except for 'generally west', as was given in our instructions. Luckily Leanimal was on her game and we popped out exactly where we needed to. Technical biking is only fun if you don't need to backtrack...
La Femme pushed the pace for the last section of the bike, as per usual. We needed to hammer if we had any hopes of keeping ahead of Beowolf, Adreline Rush and the Tree Huggers. We had also seen team Salomon Suunto during an out-and-back but catching them on the bikes was going to be near impossible. Of course the last leg was in the boats - which is not our strongest discipline. We paddled as we have never paddled before with Beowolf tight on our tail. There were many grunts and some funny heavy breathing but we ended up gaining some time on the boat in front of us and managed to keep our distance from Beowolf. Arriving at the beach we only had a 'quick' run through the campsite to the finish. One last look to water and no sight of any other teams so it wasn't a complete sprint to the finish but we did not want to take any chances. Ends up that SRS only crossed the line a minute or two before us.
It was a great race with the ladies and our best finish in a competitive field. Third overall and only 20 something minutes behind the leaders Salomon Suunto. Can't wait for next year!!!

| 0-0 score... but it was against the best team in the league so we were happy. |

 | Biking (mountain) 2:00:00 [3] | |

| La Femme and I had an awesome bike ride in the gats. Leaves are already changing. |
Wednesday Sep 19 |
 | Biking (mountain) 1:25:00 [3] | |

| Did a trail I hadn't done since my first ride of the season. I always forget how much I improve throughout a season (or more likely, how much I suck in the spring). I was rocking out so hard that my back wheel popped off (again, more likely from me not putting it on tight enough). |

 | Running (trail) 1:00:00 [4] | |

| Flat and fast. Followed some guy with long legs. |
Sunday Sep 16 |
 | XC Skiing (roller skis) 1:30:00 [2] | |
| |
| First time out on roller skis and I have to say it was not as scary as I thought it would be. I was a little wabbly at times and did a few girly yelps but I managed to avoid bailing. |
 | Biking (mountain) 1:50:00 [3] | |
| |
| Was planning on spinning the legs for a couple hours but since I was parked at P8 all my options were up, up, up. I ended up having a great ride out to Pinks Lake via Fortune and Makensie King. Easy rides are for wimps :) |
Saturday Sep 15 |
 | XC Skiing (bounding) 2:00:00 [3] | |
| |
| We had Coach Cameron put us through a grueling x-country workout. We bounded and did all kinds of weird ski specific exercises. |

Monday Sep 10 |
 | Biking (road) 1:20:00 [2] | |

| Out on the mountain bike but we did mostly bike paths. Easy spinning, but pushed up the hills. |
Sunday Sep 9 |
 | Running (trail) 2:00:00 [3] | |
| |
| Stupid spider bite is still not healed enough to go out orienteering but I did go for a great trail run up in the gats instead. Timed it perfected to get back in time for my hockey game. |
 | Hockey 1:00:00 [4] | |

| First game of the new season and we did really well for having a bunch of new recruits on the team. |
Saturday Sep 8 |
 | Biking (road) 3:54:00 [3]102 km (2:18 / km) | |

| Ride out from Westboro to Wakefield with a lovely lunch stop to break up the ride. |
Tuesday Sep 4 |

| My first outing with the tri-rudy trail running group up in the Gats. Of course I start out on the day they do their hardest run of the season, not to mention the first day of school... Lots of crazy ups and downs with banked corners and cliffs. Thought I had developed asthma at one point but the breathing leveled out when I stopped needing to use my hands to scramble up the hills. Very fun group. |
Monday Sep 3 |
 | Biking (road) 32:00 [4] | |
| |
| Quick ride out to Aylmer with Mochizuki and La Femme. |
 | Biking (road) 24:00 [5] | |
| |
| Decided to hammer on the way home since we were all on a tight schedule. We managed to shave 8 minutes off our time. The legs were burning, breathing was heavy and definitely no chatting, but it was super fun to go that fast. |
Sunday Sep 2 |
 | Paddling 1:20:00 [2] | |
| |
| After a relaxing jumbo cup of coffee it was back to the car. OK, so we had to stop for one last skinny dip before hitting the road. |

| Windy day out on Crotch Lake. It was comforting not to have any gear in the canoe and beautiful warm weather so that tipping would not be horrible. Al tipped the canoe before we even left shore, which provided for some great photos. Once we portaged around Kings Falls the wind dropped down and we explored some great rivers and wetlands. Stopped at some rapids for lunch and then back into the wind. It always seemed we were against the wind... |
