Friday Aug 31

Paddling 1:00:00 [2]
Al convinced me to go on a canoe trip instead of staying at home worrying about going back to school. We decided to head out to Crotch Lake since it's crown land only to find out when we got there that they have incorporated a reservation system. Luckily there were still some great sites left. It was a pretty short paddle into the wind to our beautiful site. We loaded the canoe up with yummy food and gear since we didn't have any portages.

Thursday Aug 30

Trecking 40:00 [1]
Power walking with the dog at Bruce Pit.

Wednesday Aug 29

Biking (road) 3:20:00 [4]96 km (2:05 / km)
Out for one last weekday ride before I head back to work. Great ride north of Wakefield with lots of rolling hills that I had never done before. The 60 year old men kept me working hard.
Paddling 1:00:00 [3]
Got suckered into my first dragon boat practice today at 7am. My mom's boat needed some seats filled.

Tuesday Aug 28

Biking (mountain) 2:30:00 [4]
Hard ride with La Femme up in the gats.

Sunday Aug 26

Roller Blading 40:00 [2]
Rollerbladed down my condo with my mom to poke around. The view is pretty awesome but the space is small. Skyler will need to transform herself into a pocket dog before we move in.
Hockey 1:00:00 [5]
Final playoff game for the summer season and we definitely got our moneys' worth today. Only 7 skaters so I would still be breathing heavily when it was my turn to go back on. It didn't help that I hadn't played since June and I was skating around like a weirdo. I did manage to snag myself an easy goal which ended up being the game winner.

Saturday Aug 25

Trecking 1:00:00 [1]
Hike with MA around her house in Quebec City before hitting the road again.

Friday Aug 24

Note
Drove for 10 hours - from Gaspe to Quebec City. Lots of construction along the way but beautiful scenery.

Thursday Aug 23

Trecking 3:00:00 [2]
Trecking up and around Forillon National Park.
Biking (mountain) 40:00 [3]
Quick bike ride out to the end of the Gaspe Penisula. Skyler was too tired to go on yet another hike.

Wednesday Aug 22

Running (trail) 1:00:00 [2]
Did the boat tour around Perce rock and out to the Northern Gannet colony. I was on a short time schedule so ran the trail out to see the birdies. It was unbelievable to see millions of birds so close.

Tuesday Aug 21

Trecking 1:30:00 [2]
Running (Trail) 2:00:00 [3]

Monday Aug 20

Orienteering 2:00:00 [1]
I picked up the flags for the orienteering section of the race. Amazing how much easier it is to do in the daylight and having already visited the locations the day before. It took us an hour and a half longer to complete this section in the race. I ran some parts but walked all the hills and tried to stick to bush whacking. Really fun to try more efficient routes.

Sunday Aug 19

Adventure Racing race 8:00:00 [4]
Did Race the Phantom out in northern New Brunswick (Dalhousie) with team Angry Seagull. The race was AWESOME!!!! Super fun technical mountain biking sections, lots of choice in navigation and absolutely beautiful scenery. We paddled in the Bay des Chaleurs, which was a wee wavy but at least the wind was behind us. This was the first race put on by Nat and Troy out of Fredericton and it ran extremely smoothly. There were only 5 teams this year but hopefully a bigger crowd will be out next year. Try to make it out if you can. Here is their website - www.naturalselectionar.com

We were the only team to complete the entire advanced course and I won the big draw prize of a snazzy bike tool kit ? which I have not idea how to use?
C • Congrats 1

Saturday Aug 18

Adventure Racing race 12:00:00 [4]
Race the Phantom

Sunday Aug 12

Adventure Racing race 6:00:00 [4]
Angry Seagull 24h Adventure Race out of Guelph with the Bobkittens. My mom did an excellent job supporting us and we had a visit from Phatty at the last couple TAs to give us a final push home. It was a very fast racecourse with no real down time to recover. The heat during the long trail run section was especially tough on me but the ladies kept me in good spirits. We were very happy to see the sun go down and to get on the bikes for a little relief. La Femme & Leanimal really pushed hard on the bike sections and I enjoyed the draft pocket most of the way. The 'canoe' section was challenging due to the low water levels. We were out of the canoe most of the way dragging it along loose and slippery rocks. Leanimal almost stepped on a huge snapping turtle and a baby beaver. We crossed the finish line in just under 16hours and first overall. Yeah Bobkittens!!!
C • Way to go Kitties! 3

Saturday Aug 11

Adventure Racing race 10:00:00 [4]

Wednesday Aug 8

Biking (mountain) 2:30:00 [2]
Looping around the Pinery trails with my sis and bro.

Tuesday Aug 7

Running (trail) 1:15:00 [4]
Super humid run in the Pinery with my sis and Skyler. Quick swim break half way to cool off.

Monday Aug 6

Paddling 3:00:00 [2]
A few portages and a big paddle with the wind all the way home.

Sunday Aug 5

Paddling 2:30:00 [2]
After a relaxing morning of sipping coffee we headed up the Moon River to the Seven Sisters rapids. The lake trawler was able to make it down most of the rapids with only a couple scrapes on the bottom. Phatty, Leanimal, Slice & Hansel made the rapids look like a piece of cake. I blame our difficulties on the fact that the lake trawler is a few feet longer and we had three bodies weighing it down...

Saturday Aug 4

Paddling 5:00:00 [2]
Phatty's long weekend paddle adventure with the gang. Did a great little circuit around Moon River. Great weather, company and food.

Thursday Aug 2

Running (trail) 30:00 [3]
Out on the beach until the lightning rolled in.
