Pushed super hard on today's intervals. My competitive nature wants to keep up with the cheaters who run up the hill instead of bound (which is slower but harder). I tried not to give into the impulse just to sprint ahead but the good angel on my shoulder told me that the whole point of doing these exercises is to simulate x-country skiing and when the snow finally falls I should be set and victory will finally be mine. Moohhaaahaaa!!!

Joined in for todays practice. We scrimaged for most of the time and I didn't kill myself. Then a couple fun drills. The Russian circle is my fav. If only I could raise the puck on a regular basis... It's so fun playing with my students.

Ran around to as many controls as I could before the meet to wake up the SI units and make sure that nothing disappeared overnight.

Shadowed a friend on the short intermediate course. She did great for her first time out. There were huge numbers of deer out in the forest. One approached us from behind and scared to crap out of us. We just assumed it was another team but instead we were face to face with a huge deer probably wanting to snack on my half eaten luna bar still in my pack from the rogaine. A grad total of 134 orienteerers made it out which I think is awesome, especially since Raid the Hammer took a bunch of people out of town.

After the awards I took to the woods for the third time to collect controls. I volunteered for the controls that were farther away so that I could get a bit of a trail run in. Great day but I'm exhausted...
