Saturday Dec 8

XC Skiing (classic) 3:30:00 [3]
A great mix of trails on this one. La Femme, Mr Mo and I hit the fluffy backcountry trails first. There were some spectacular bails by Mr Mo but luckily the snow was so deep that it did not hurt at all. We followed our adventures in the bush with some lovely groomed stuff to snack time at Huron. Then on the way back we flew down the rolling hills of Burma and did the home sprint back to the car and food.

Thursday Dec 6

Running (road) 1:25:00 [3]
I'm so not used to fighting traffic that I abandoned my car 4 blocks from my friend's house because it was too torturous to idle. I quickly changed into my running gear, as I was eager to enjoy the last 30 minutes of daylight. It was extra satisfying to run past all of the cars still slowly inching their way home. I looped out to the arboretum to let Skyler have some time off leash, but she was too pooped to run off trail. We did have some fun running down the toboggan hill.

Tuesday Dec 4

XC Skiing (skate) 10:00 [5]
20 x 30sec intervals with 30 seconds rest between reps. La Femme and I had already skied for over an hour prior to starting the hard stuff. The intervals almost killed me. Unbelievable conditions though.
XC Skiing (skate) 2:00:00 [2]
Warm-up and cool-down.

Monday Dec 3

Strength 8:00 [5]
4x2min intervals. I needed to get my snow tires out of the shed in the backyard and man-o-man was it a workout. I'm not even joking. It seriously was super hard. Normally I get them out before 35cm of snow is covering the backyard and it's all fun & games as I roll them up the hill and then let them go out of control down the other side but this was a touch different. The thick blanket of deep snow was providing huge resistance and my feeble arms were twitching like crazy as I held the tire close to my chest. I was totally wasted and out of breath by the time I got to the car.

Sunday Dec 2

XC Skiing (classic) 2:10:00 [4]
tough ski with the group. grooming wasn't done on all the trails so we worked extra hard to get grip - oh lafleur where art though? not that i'm totally giving up on the new grooming company just yet but it really sucks to have so much snow and the trails are a mess. 35-55cm snow expected to fall by tomorrow night so we'll see if they can get their shit together.
