Snowshoeing 6:00:00 [4]
Snowgaine in northern NY with lovely Slice. Our first day consisted of a mixture of road running and snowshoe running/trekking. The first 6 hours were great, especially in the woods walking through the deep snow. We chose a different route than everyone else so we needed to blaze our own path to many controls (not nearly as much as Phatty and Leanimal though). There was way more snow out there than we first expected and I think we would have been much faster on skis but we were happy with the controls we got and our strategy.

The last two hours of the day were challenging for me. I have not done much running since the snow has fallen and unfortunately the ski muscles did not convert over as much as I had hoped. Not to worry though as my saviour Slice was there to encourage me in our sprint to the finish and to push me up the hills when needed.

Snowshoeing 1:30:00 [1]
La Femme, Kat, Skyler and I hiked up the wolf trail. It was an extremely cold night but it kept you moving. There was enough light from the stars to hike without headlamps which is always fun. A quick stop at the lookout until our eyes started to water and our face threatened to fall off.

XC Skiing (classic) 1:13:00 [3]
Ski-orienteering out at Nakertok. Such a nice day to blast through some trails. They gave you the choice of classic or skate. With only 60% of trails being suitable for skating I decided on classic so that I could take fun short cuts through the bush and across the lakes. Didn't take my compass out once but it was nice to look at a map again.
Snowshoeing 30:00 [2]
Tried out my new gaiters and seal skinz socks. Feet got a little slimy but hopefully it's better than being soaked for 8 hours.
