Sunday Aug 5

Orienteering race 1:18:53 [4]*** 6.8 km (11:36 / km) +190m 10:11 / km
spiked:10/13c
Day 2 Green at Colorado 5 Day. A cleaner race than Day 1, but slower. Still working on getting in optimum shape.

Day 2 Green A - Splits

Saturday Aug 4

Orienteering race 1:14:49 [4]*** 6.5 km (11:31 / km) +175m 10:09 / km
Day 1 Green of the Colorado 5 Day. Messed up on the last control when I mistook another control for it and lost some time.
Orienteering 37:14 [3]*** 2.8 km (13:18 / km) +40m 12:25 / km
Progressive course as part of the Zero to Orange course. Done in the morning before the A-meet.
Orienteering 30:14 [1]* 2 km (15:07 / km) +40m 13:45 / km
Went out on White after my regular course. This was part of the Zero to Orange thing. We were supposed to do either White or Yellow to practice our patterns. I just walked the whole thing, but did try to put real concentration into the pattern thing.

Day 1 Green 1 - Splits

Friday Aug 3

Event: 2007 USOF Convention and Colorado 5-Days

Orienteering (Score-O) 51:52 [3]*** 4.35 km (11:55 / km) +105m 10:38 / km
Spent all day in the classroom as an Assistant Instructor for Bob Turbyfill's Zero to Orange class. The day ended with a score-O training run. It was pretty simple, but I still managed to trip on my way to the finish and plant my hand into a cactus. Ouch!

Thursday Aug 2

Note
Travel Day - driving to Elbert, CO

Wednesday Aug 1

Note
weight:130lbs
So I've succesfully lost 5 lbs. in about 3 1/2 weeks. Only 5 more to go! Hiking around Camp Scherman for 3 days straight certainly helped. Now I have to worry about not eating too much at the convention where they'll be serving 3 squares a day - plus an ice cream social.

Tuesday Jul 31

Orienteering (Control Tagging) 3:00:00 [1]***
Finished tagging at Camp Scherman. This is a really interesting map with a mix of terrain from very open running to intricate boulders with tough vegetation. Should be a good event.

Monday Jul 30

Orienteering (Control Tagging) 7:20:00 [1]***
More control tagging for Camp Scherman. Today I did the most physical stuff - yikes!
