DOMS in quads, achilles tight as a mother bunt stain

Orienteering race (Middle) 35:45 [5] ***** 3.0 km (11:55 / km) +260m 8:19 / km
ahr:173 max:187 spiked:10/13c shoes: Inov8 RocLite 305

SI Middle on Flock Hill, pretty awesome area, thought the course could have done a bit better on using the rocks more, but it was still ok. Was hurting big time going to 1, 75 m climb and the legs were burning, achilles and calfs feeling much better after yesterday, still couldn't really run properly let alone go up-hill with any speed. Did same mistake as everyone else on 8, then couldn't read 9 at all and thought it was a massive wrap around cliff (lines covering everything) so went high and lost a min or so, Thought I was caning it downhill only to have Neil take massive chucks of time out of me. Pretty pleased with today, esp since achilles and calfs were okish, oing was ok but lacking a bit of my normal confidence and reading heaps and checking lots as well which isn't especially fast.

Went will people learn how to cut circles properly, its not that hard!

Orienteering race (Long) 26:20 [4] *** +185m
ahr:157 max:174 spiked:4/4c shoes: Inov8 RocLite 305

SI long on Dalethrop. Legs really tight and sore, couldn't get moving properly at all, not even enough to get my HR up, really struggled through to 4 where I stopped for a massive stretch.

Orienteering 27:40 [2] +20m
ahr:121 max:153 shoes: Inov8 RocLite 305

Coming back from 4, taking it easy and stopping to stretch all the time, achilles felt like they were going to snap at 4 but after about 30 mins stretching between there and the finish with bits of jogging they felt a bit better.

Orienteering race (Sprint) 15:49 [5] **** 2.4 km (6:35 / km) +40m 6:05 / km
ahr:186 max:193 spiked:12/17c shoes: Inov8 RocLite 305

SI sprint, on an awesome sand-dune area/map. Really fun and totally enjoyed it, apart from the intense pain in my legs and chest. Was going ok, lost a few small bits of time on 5, 8, 11 and 12 and also cocked up the route choice to 9, saw it too late. Sort of happy with oing, in respect to how I have been running around like a muppet lately it was good but the time lose on little niggle things is a bit frustrating (slightly off on compass and some lack of confidence).

Thanks Carsten and Jenni choice event.

Orienteering race (Night Mass Start) 45:20 [4] *** 4.4 km (10:18 / km) +35m 9:55 / km
ahr:166 max:189 spiked:10/15c shoes: Inov8 RocLite 305

Mass Start Night Race, would have been awesome fun if I was fitter, un-injured and could run properly. Was up front for first 4 controls with Tane, then Chris came flying past, managed to just put head down and try to follow, they got miles in front going to 5 but could still see lights so still followed, ended up way too far right and lost about 5 mins, was still with Tane through to 11 and achilles starting getting really tight from about 8 on, going into 11 my legs were really sore and I was not concentrating on the oing just the legs and managed to stuff it big time, then stumbled both physically and technically through 12 and 13, before stopping at end of loop.

Achilles, calfs and shin thing all tight as a nuns nasty

Note

Does anyone know where today went, maybe it got lost in the spiral between working with release wax and epoxy resin all day, probably should have been using an extractor fan instead of my nose to get get rid of the fumes.

Ints on Wind Trainer, same as last week, 2 on 2 off but 7 sets rather than 5. Keeping cadence high between 108 and 115. Could have filled a bath with my sweat.

Note
(rest day)

Bit of an ass of a day, finally started getting the uni work piled on to us, about time having really done nothing for 6 weeks. Had physio so that is sort of something positive towards running faster
