Paddling 1:07:16 intensity: (8 @0) + (50 @1) + (6:04 @2) + (50:20 @3) + (9:54 @4) 4.89 mi (13:45 / mi) +3m 13:44 / mi
ahr:139 max:154

Tri-Loppet paddle with Chris M.

I thought we were slower than last year, but it turns out the distance was longer this year. So it turned out we were actually 5 seconds per km faster... essentially the same.

Running Trail 34:19 intensity: (39 @3) + (27:17 @4) + (6:23 @5) 3.28 mi (10:28 / mi) +83m 9:42 / mi
ahr:161 max:168

Tri-Loppet run.

Same time as last year. I was surprisingly alone during the run. Other years I was surrounded by many people... or seemed like it anyway.

Cycling Mt Bike 45:35 intensity: (1:00 @3) + (42:07 @4) + (2:28 @5) 7.74 mi (5:53 / mi) +76m 5:43 / mi
ahr:156 max:169

Tri-Loppet bike.

I struggled to get moving in the first twenty minutes and added three minutes to my time compared to last year. But after that I was on par with last year. Course was soft from wet ground which made it slow or slippery in spots, but not a big deal.

Cycling 18:08 intensity: (2:42 @2) + (13:57 @3) + (1:29 @4) 3.55 mi (5:06 / mi) +18m 5:01 / mi
ahr:136 max:147

Bike back to car after Tri-Loppet.

ahr:140 max:164

A 98% grass run & walk from home. Intended to run for a couple hours, but the heat got to me. After an hour I did not feel like running anymore. I decided to walk for a while and see if I changed my mind, but never did. But I think the walk helped with the recovery so glad I did that.

Circus boot camp -- day 4
Lyra, Wire, trapeze, silks

Not really sore, but definitely fatigued. And it was hot today. Sick to my stomach all afternoon and evening -- must have been the Smash Burger lunch.

Circus Boot Camp Day 3
silks, hats, lyra, trapeze

After three days in a row of circus, I have lots of bruises. Only thing that really hurts is the insertion point of my right calf behind the knee. That is due mainly to one legged monkey rolls on the trapeze... like this:

ahr:138 max:165

Long run turned into more of a long slog toward the end, but always happy to get time in on my feet... walked the last couple miles. I'm going to say it again: pavement running does not feel good to me. 24 miles at BRF Rogaine and I hardly noticed I'd done anything. But 10 or 12 miles of pavement and I'm feeling it all over. I think it would be less of a bother if I ran faster and with better form on the pavement. That gives me something to work on.

Actually pretty good running weather today if you don't mind a little rain.

Paddling 42:37 intensity: (15 @0) + (17:22 @1) + (25:00 @2) 3.53 mi (12:04 / mi) +1m 12:03 / mi
ahr:109 max:122

Early morning paddle down Rice Creek with J Dub. Didn't think it would be so quick. Amazingly beautiful on the creek. Many big herons and other birds, jumping fish, turtles and waking deer. You wouldn't know you were in the city except for the traffic noise.

I'd really like to paddle down from further upstream yet this year.

Neighborhood run. With Jeannine from 7:30. My legs are tired.. not sore, just tired from all the activity this week. Had hoped to get in a long run, but it was not to be. Maybe tomorrow?

No Name 86 with Chris M and Tommy from Memphis. A great day -- incredible weather. Probably my best effort navigating and biking at an Alley Cat. Still came in near the end, but made the 2.5 hour cut off... many other nights I probably would not have made it. And I did not receive the DFL prize (some nasty Burt Reynolds DVDs) since a couple guys came in after me, but still under the cutoff time... last guy in "won".

15 checkpoints on the course, which was great. But still not much variety in route choice. I may have to put on my own Alley Cat race just to see if I can set a course where people choose obviously different routes.

That said, this was probably best No Name courses I've ridden.
