5:55 AM. Home, Lexington, Golf Course, and back. 92.0 °F

Run with neighborhood group. Good pace on the way back, unfortunetly my GPS didn't capture data from the run. Maybe it's full?

3:57 PM. Standing Cedars. 79.0 °F

Training run with toddp. Warm day, so while we weren't traveling fast, it still felt like a serious work out. While the visibility in the forest was good, the steep terrain, and sometimes cluttered underbrush, kept it interesting. Incredible views of the river valley

The steams in the river bottoms were not the main channel of the river. We saw one stream that was amazingly clear. Todd suggested that made these were spring fed streams that eventually flow into the river.

3:31 PM. Work to New Brighton. 83.0 °F

A partial commute from work to my parents' home. I had visions of going all the way to my home, but thought better of it. I'll save that for another day.

What I did run was 95% mowed boulevard and trails, so I called this a trail run. It's hard to fathom that I was "running" and only managed an 11:47 min/mile pace. Sigh... Some of it is due to getting older, less training, etc, but maybe I was never as fast as I thought I was. I never had a fancy GPS/HRM gadget before, so who knows I fast I trained???

So while I have to deal with that mentally, I'm feeling good physically and that's always good. Next time I do this course I have to dive deeper into the forest along Rice Creek and in Long Lake Park so I can get on more real trails.

8:53 AM. Afton State Park. 81.0 °F

Run/walk with Ken CP. It was supposed to be a two hour run, but after about and hour and 20 minutes, by left knee was hurting enough that I was ready to bail. Luckily Ken reminded me that I said I wanted to go two hours even if we walked, so we walked nearly another hour. My knee was not painful at all while walking, so it worked out great.

7:09 PM. Whitetail Ridge, River Falls, WI. 86.0 °F

Back to Whitetail Ridge with JSD for the second Friday in a row. He fell while navigating between a couple trees, so we didn't go as far as last week. Nice evening though.

The last mile was on the roads.

Need to get back and see the rest of the trails. Still haven't seen about 2 miles.

6:33 PM. Circus. 81.0 °F

Warm up run before circus. Run on grass while avoiding the frisbee golfers.

Circus 1:05:00 [3]

Low-casting. This is a form of swinging trapeze, but low to the ground. My feet were about 4 feet off the ground at the low point of the swing. This was the first time that I swung on the trapeze, released, and was caught by someone else. Similar to what you might see in a "real" circus, but in this case the catcher was on a stationary trapeze, ie. not swinging. Definitely feeling it in the upper body the day after.

German Wheel. The coach taught us how to go all the way around, upside down, inside the wheel. It's surprisingly easy once you learn the little tricks to get moving and control your momentum.

Mini Tramp. Run and jump on a little tramp, then do dive rolls, etc.

Silks. Similar to climbing a long rope hanging from the sealing, but it is made of a long, stretchy fabric. Experts wrap the silk around themselves and tumble from great heights. I climbed up about 15 feet and came back down.

7:00 PM. NE MPLS. 81.0 °F

Alleycat race with Mr. Budel, from Stone Arch Bridge to finish near 35th and Central.

Good race. Felt alot like a weekend training bike-O', but with a differen crowd. Finish was at the setter's house followed by good food and talk.

Course was good. We made one big mistake by not knowing that both the Lowry and Camden bridges were closed. As a result, we went 8 miles out of our way. Sigh... As it was we came in 2nd to last. Without the extra 8 miles, we would have place near the top.

Supposedely they do this the first Sunday of each month, so I'll try to do it again.

Cycling Road 32:19 intensity: (1:21 @1) + (9:56 @2) + (20:53 @3) + (9 @4) 5.9 mi (5:29 / mi) +61m 5:18 / mi

5:52 AM. Home, Como Lk and back. 85.0 °F

Run with the neighborhood group. Big crowd of 10+ today.

Note

171 lbs. I don't like it. Looking forward to 163.9...

5:32 PM. Whitetail Ridge, River Falls, WI. 85.0 °F

Mt. Bike on Whitetail Ridge single track with JSD. Excellent trails and beautiful forest. Too bad the forest isn't bigger because it would make a great site for an O' map.

These could be my favorite "local" single track trails. We did about 4 miles. I suspect there is at least another two miles of trails, maybe three. Check it out people.
