 | rollerskiing warm up/down (skate) 1:00:00 [1] 8.0 mi (7:30 / mi) | |
| |
| Couldn't read the map for the pavement in my warmup or cooldown, took more concentration than I had to give. |
 | Ski-o intervals (skate) 36:00 [4] 5.0 mi (7:11 / mi) | |
| |
| 4x4min L4; 5min rest. Reading a random ski-o map I printed out from online. Did the intervals on the time trial hill for the Fitchburg race course since Anna needed to do intervals there and we wanted to go strawberry picking beforehand. Nobody told me how bad the pavement is on that road! I have never rollerskied on worse pavement! Between making sure my skis kept rolling, reading the map, and paying attention to my technique, my brain was mildly overloaded... I felt slow on these, but not as tired as I did on wed. I think the slowness comes from skating up a hill that didn't look as steep as it is. |

 | Running 52:00 [1] 5.0 mi (10:24 / mi) | |
| |
| A supposedly L2 run (it was not L2, it was L1, my legs felt tired during this) immediately after the skiing. I was going to run at Watchusett mt but Anna's intervals were taking her three times longer than she thought they would, so I just ran on the road. Cut off 30 min because I didn't want to aggravate my achilles any more on the pavement. |
 | Running intervals 2:00 [5] | |
| |
| 6x20s sprints, every 7 minutes. |
 | Note | |
| |
| I woke up this morning with a serious pain in the ass. I think it is because I spent too much time sitting with my wallet in my rear pocket yesterday, but, OUCH! Also, my achilles is sort of acting up again, but hopefully I can get it back under control (L). |

| Taking down streamers at Prospect Hill. It was pretty dark when I started, around 8pm, and it got too dark to run and read the map quickly. Then it got too dark to differentiate between poison ivy and everything else. Then it got too dark to see the streamers, so I called it a night. Its been way too long since I've run in the woods... I felt a little shaky out there, but that could also have been that I didn't want to get lost in the dark and I'd forgotten my compass. |
 | Running 15:00 [1] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi) | |
| |
| After I couldn't see anymore I just ran back to the start. |

| warmup was once around the bigger loop no-poles. Cooldown was double pole, same loop. Calf and shin on left leg really tired while no-pole skating. |
 | rollerskiing intervals (double pole) 53:00 [3] 7.0 mi (7:33 / mi) | |
| |
| 6x 5 min tempo/low threshold. Three double pole only intervals and the rest were skate. Supposed to be no-pole but my body was too tired to get the HR up without poles. Focusing on good technique, but man was I tired. Hard to get the HR above 165... Olga came with me, nice to have some company. |

| Franklin Falls rollerski TT. Starts rolling, climbs a bit, climbs a long/steep hill, rolls to the finish. My legs were definitely tired, but I figured everyone else was tired too so tried to stay positive. Right before the start I jumped into the woods to pee, and got a fair bit of dirt/stones under my boot. It was kind of difficult to put on my ski but I got it on and it seemed to be attached. We go, and three strides in my ski comes off. I think I did two sort of hobble-strides scootering along wondering why my left foot felt so light before I figured out that my ski had come off. oops. So the pack got a 50-60 ft lead on me, and I had to concentrate pretty hard on not hammering myself into the ground, while still moving fast... Got past a couple girls, working the flats, and chased for a while until the hill started. Then it just hurt a lot so I just put my head down and skied until it ended. I could see Parker and Jess at the top, and I actually caught up to Parker on the flats. She pulled away on a little bump though, and finished ahead of me. Not a bad ski, but my lower legs/calves were pretty tight. They didn't stop me too much but were definitely a distraction. Pretty pleased with the effort, my technique stayed together for the most part. |
 | Running warm up/down 24:00 [1] 2.0 mi (11:59 / mi) | |
| |
| Cooldown was running since we were at the top of a mountain. 5x 55-5s. |
