Running race 37:30 [5] 10.0 km (3:45 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7
Did the race formerly known as the Terry Fox fun run. Weather turned out to be just right for it - a classic sunny canberra winter day. Big turnout including quite a few cockies and bilbys. The course goes from the canadian high comission to weton park and back - it's got a few short climbs. Started a couple of rows back from the front so had to get round a bit of traffic in the first 500m, then spotted scotty and muzza ahead so picked it up a bit to get up to them. Knowing scotty's race plan would be to go fairly easy for the first half then pick it up at the turn I decided to stick with him up to the turn. This worked out OK, I was going reasonably quickly but there was something left. Went past the gorilla near the turn and from there tried to keep going past other runners. I think I got 3 or 4. There was one dude who was getting a bit annoying, seemed he was trying to run where I was so was glad when I pulled away. Felt strong in the last 2 ks and finished in 37.30, which is an improvement on the 38.23 I did on this course 3 years ago and I suspect is a pb. Missed a few of the k markers so splits aren't complete.
