Swimming 1:30:00 [4] 3.0 km (30:00 / km)

Finally back to Bilbys swimming at civic. No change in the standards of the pool over the winter, I suspect some of the floating objects were in there the last time I went. In a concession to the colder weather there is some heating in the change rooms and the tunnel to the pool is still up. There's a new coach, last night was all pull buoy and bands and paddles, not good when you haven't swum for 5 months. I was in the slow lane, but even so was off the pace after half an hour - it felt like swimming in treacle. At least made it to the end of the session without cramping.

Bilbys warm up 50:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7

Running intervals 24:00 [5] 6.4 km (3:45 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7

Bilbys intervals, about 100 new novices there tonight doing a 2k time trial, the regulars ran 3 min reps in the outside lanes. Did 8 reps, was moving better than on the last couple of weeks, did about 800m for each rep. Quite a cold wind blowing so it took a while to warm up.

Orienteering race 47:18 [5] *** 6.3 km (7:30 / km) +210m 6:26 / km
spiked:7/10c shoes: O shoes

Oceania relays. Back on a spur-gully map today at Antills creek in M35 team with Scott Simson and Turbo. No kiwi opposition so all we had to do was finish to get the point. Liggo's M40 dream team was on the same course and they had a good lead out from Jimbo getting a 10 minute lead by the first change. I was 2nd leg, stuffed around getting too high on the first control and was a bit wobbly round 3 and 6. Not the best run ever, but was hard to fire up with no pack to run with.
