good day for a rest so spent a couple of hours chopping a tree down that was almost horizontal to start with. then looked at v.expensive wheels at the bike shed

did the tour de pete for the first time in ages. good morning for it apart from the usual idiot drivers. Shep and greeny took the wind the whole way so it was pretty cruisey.

Lake swim, did a longer swim this week, out round the first pylon of the bridge then to the museum and back to the ferry terminal. Big Gaz reckoned 1.9 k, but measured on google earth its more like 1.7, so the time of 33mins is about right for a steady swim with a couple of breaks while I waited for trent to catch up. Steering much improved over last week. A bit of a sewagey tang to the lake, hope it's not the s@*t washing down from queanbeyan again.

Run after transition went a bit further than last week, was going to be 5k but think it was a bit less. Another big year 12 formal at the museum, apparently the police had to be called to close down the one there last week.

Back to the bilbys Wednesday ride - went in the fast group which sets a respectable pace for the whole ride. route was Hall-Gunghalin and we got round in about 1h05, the other 15 mins was to and from home. Good riding conditions this morning and bunch was a sensible size and organised

bilbys intervals. Armed with new technique I was up with the lead bunch this week, for 6 reps anyway them it was time for a drink and legs, technique, energy all disappeared on rep 7 so I called it a day. Intervals were 600m, 200m easy, long set was meant to be 10. Splits, 2.19, 2.15, 2.15, 2.14, 2.13, 2.13, 2.18 (last one wasn't as bad as I thought)

Bilbys swimming. Quite busy at the pool tonight, and janet's mate was back in the slow lane creating a few traffic problems. noted that the bilbys 'world champion' had moved to the medium lane so think I may do the same on wednesday. Julia reckoned we did 3ks, but it didn't really feel like that far and we finished ahead of time.

Cockies long run - there was a big roll up from the girls this morning, must have been one of the biggest sunday runs for a while. JLA led us through the pines and over Hackett Hill. Was a good morning for a run as it was still cool with all the rain that had fallen yesterday.
