Cycling long 2:35:00 [3] 75.0 km (2:04 / km)

Saturday ride with the bilbys. Set off from home and it was quite warm and not raining but started on the way to anu. Gaz decided that shingle hill would be the way to go, was pretty wet up the federal highway, but the rain stopped at eaglehawk and there was a reasonably pleasant spell until sutton when the rain started again. I'd never done this ride before, but thought it was pretty good, one long climb and good roads. Deli marx was closed so went to sfoglia, where they hadn't put the bike rack out as they weren't expecting anyone to have ridden. The really heavy rain came on just as I climbed the hill home, will have to clean the bike as it's covered in grit.

Cycling race 1:48:00 [3] 57.0 km (1:54 / km)

Final Tour de Pete of the year. Hoggster, Acejase and Peter turned out. Quite a humid morning and for some reason there were a lot of hoon cars on the road - maybe preparing for summernats. Did the traditional route along horse park drive to deli marx. Seemed like most of canberra was having coffee there this morning.

Swimming long 23:25 [3] 1.3 km (18:01 / km)
shoes: wetsuit

bilbys lake swim. Water was dead flat but this made no difference to my speed compared to last week. Glad to have the wetsuit on as the water was a bit chilly and also a bit smelly as well.

Running tempo 20:55 [4] 4.5 mi (4:39 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7

Post-swim run, made it a bit longer this week but notched the pace back as legs are still a bit sore from tuesday's sprints. No school formal at the museum this week - just posh dining at the lakeside restaurant

Cycling 1:10:00 [4] 38.0 km (1:51 / km)

Bilby fast bunch. The pace at the start was fairly easy, route was kind of a reverse pete and the pace picked up through the ride, one of the hardest working bilby rides I've been on for a while

Running intervals 14:00 [5] 4.3 km (3:15 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7

Bilbys intervals. An end of term feel to the session, we did a 4x 3min 1min easy whistle set then a 2 k relay with 200m legs (I did 4x200) couldn't hold the sprint speed for the last 200 and was caught on the line.

Bilbys warm up warm up/down 45:00 [3]

Cycling hills 45:00 [4] 16.0 km (2:49 / km)

As a Monday morning wake up call I did 2 black mountain reps. Haven't done these since the depth of winter so though 2 was a good target. Times were 11.48 and 11.53. Pretty happy with the times, was doing 12.30-13.00 back in winter.

Swimming 1:30:00 [3] 2.5 km (36:00 / km)

Bilbys swimming. Usual warm ups etc but then Mark must have decided that everyone in the slow lane was crap and decided to have a look at how we were swimming. My progress through the water has all the finesse of a brick with paddles - think he gave us too much to think about though rather than one or two things to work on. At the end we did a 100m time trial. I timed mine at 1.28, but I don't think the coach believed it.

Note
(rest day)

Had set the alarm to do the tour de mountains, and woke at 5am to the sound of rain. Immediately visualised 90 mins of running in wet clouds on the top of a bleak moor so switched the alarm off and fell asleep until 8. Decided to declare a rest day.
