Cycling 1:33:00 [3] 48.0 km (1:56 / km)

Tour de federal highway. Good bunch of 7 this morning for the new pete route. Definitely a better start point than than the old route for me, a lazy 5 minute roll down the hill. We went out as far as the top of washing machine hill, jase dropped off the back before the top. Much less danger than horse park drive.

Swimming 1:25:00 [4] 3.0 km (28:20 / km)

swimming..... the theme this week must be arms because they were getting pretty sore, bailed out of the last paddle set to avoid overloading shoulders. Once again it was quite busy.

Running intervals 30:00 [4] 7.2 km (4:10 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7

Tuesday night intervals - first hard run session for three weeks, was quite a hot evening but luckily the wind got up and kept things a bit cooler. The set was 3 x 1k, 3 x 600m, 3 x 200m, 200m easy between each interval. Was fairly conservative on the first 1k, and kept a good pace to the end. Splits were 3.52, 3.51, 3.57, 2.20, 2.24, 2.24, 45, 44, 45. Declared a rest morning tomorrow (i.e no ride) as part of taper to the triathlon/duathlon this weekend.

Swimming 1:30:00 [4] 3.2 km (28:07 / km)

Monday swim, the crowds were back from the holidays so swimming in the slow lane was a bit more hazardous. Think I might be improving a bit as I was out at the front most of the time - although at the moment there's so much algae in the the lake, it's unlikely there'll be any triathlons with swim legs for the next month.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7

after a long ride yesterday decided that a lie-in and a shorter run would be in order. Went round Lyneham ridge then back into bruce and o'connor ridges with a bit of the single track thrown in towards the end - didn't recognise the track so maybe a new one. Was getting quite warm by the time I finished and legs were pretty heavy.
