Note
(injured)

Woke up early for the bush capital run, leg felt pretty sore still and did't feel much better after the walk to gett the paper. Decided to rest/stretch it and hope it improves over the next few days. Not really what sure what set it off, might have been 6 hours in car on wednesday or ambitious pre-race hammy stretches yesterday

Running race 21:32 [5] 5.6 km (3:51 / km)
shoes: Gel kayano 13

CSIRO Black Mountain Cup. The annual CSIRO fun run goes from near the black mountain library round a lap of little black mountain and back. This is always a big contest between the divisions of plant industry and sustainable ecosystems. Andre had swallowed the tale i'd told him at bilbys about a "secret weapon" (last year they had Mark Bourne) so they'd rounded up all their runners. Stuey Doyle led off from the gun, i kept in touch, but wasn't in the form of a couple of weeks ago and lost sight of him at the turnoff for the loop. From there I was on my own, but as the team time counts had to keep pushing as hard as possible. Was getting a few twinges from the left hammy going round the back of the loop and did the usual method for this run of going as hard as possible to the end of the loop knowing the rest is downhill. Time was 21.32; 9 secs quicker than last year, which is a bit disapointing given my current form. At the finish there was the wait to see who was coming in for the divisional teams, turned out that our secret weapon was sanders who came in second girl and more importantly whipped the sustainable ecosystems number 4. The black mountain cup is now returned to its rightful place on top of the cupboards in our tea room.

Running intervals 30:00 [5] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Gel kayano 13

Bilbys intervals, a freezing night but at least it wasn't raining. Quite a big turnout considering the weather. Set was 5x800(1min), 5x 400(40 sec) At the front of the pack, michael and daudi were joined by luke grattan. This just meant the pace was hotter than usual. I went into the red zone on the third rep as the pace accelerated, then it was a case of hanging on and watching the battle at the front, luke put in a very quick 400 in the third from last but that was the end of him and once more the youngsters picked up the pace for the last two reps. Spilts: 2.56, 2.56, 2.53, 2.57, 2.59, 1.29, 1.28, 1.27, 1.26, 1.24
