Thursday intervals - Andre took the sessions so there was a set of incomprehensible stretches to start off with. The set was the so-called cross country course - running up and down the banking by the track. There were 2 900s then 5 600s. Andre had us paired up - I got Daudi, so had to work pretty hard to keep in touch. Spilts were 3.42, 3.36, 1.54, 1.52, 1.52, 1.53, 1.52.

Bilbys intervals - a whistle set of 2x4min(2min), 2x3(1.5), 2x2(1) and 2x1(30). Had no speed at all so was good that Cam caught me so I had someone to work with. First night with all the novices there doing a 2k time trial - notably sanders wasn't doing the 2k...

Five peaks ride with the bilbys. Good riding conditions for this, sun and a cooling breeze. Felt reasonably good up black mountain but didn't have much spring in my legs so was a bit of a slog to the top. Could tell I haven't ridden any hills for a while. On ainslie one of the girls in the slow group stopped and fainted, but she was happy as she'd got further than where she'd fainted last time she tried the climb. Hit 70 on the way down. Between Mt Pleasant and Red Hill the peloton came under attack from the Kings avenue magpie. This one didn't mess about, launching a frontal assault as we rode up to its lamp post then circled round for a second go. Was good to get up stromlo and then cruise back - rolled up the driveway just as the rain started.

cockies long run over hackett hill and ainslie, through edge of campbell park and over hackett hill again. strong cbf factor meant we headed down from the saddle without completing the statutory 90 mins
