Cycling long 3:35:00 [3] 86.0 km (2:30 / km)

Long Bilbys ride was Cotter-Condor creek-Urriara this morning. Was a bit of a cold start and was wishing I had some arm warmers for the 7am start. Not a big turnout but we had a group of 12 or so to start. Three of us broke off the front on Mt Mac, Luke Grattan was riding with us and put on a sprint to get to the top first. On the road to condor luke was telling us that this was the climb that counted and set off at a sprint, there was no way I was going with him, so just got a good gear and plugged away passing him just before the top. Gaz thought it was pretty funny. The nun was closed so we had coffee at flatheads next door - I don't think it would get hoggster approval, and 10 cyclists turning up overwhelmed their coffee producing capacity, but did have bargain priced food.

Cycling tempo 1:16:00 [4] 38.0 km (2:00 / km)

Went to the last bilbys ride of the year. In the absence of big gaz, there had been a route change to do mugga way instead of the golf course. I has been planning to go in the medium group, but it looked like that would have been tedious so went with what turned out to be a fairly big fast bunch. Started off near the back to try and avoid doing a lot of work early and didn't get to the front until the climb out of scrivener. Had to do a bit of work to get into the lead bunch at the bottom of Mugga way, could see nate positioning himself at second wheel for the climb so slotted on his wheel. Once the front pair had gone we traded places up the hill, with nate just taking it out, but was pretty happy with the effort backing up from intervals last night. Cruised back in the middle of the bunch.

Running intervals 35:00 [5] 8.4 km (4:10 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 14

Gary had sent out a set for tuesday intervals so thought I'd go a long and do it. Only a few people there so thought it would be fairly cruisey, but then vanessa haverd turned up. Did the full 7x1k(200 recovery) but started out way too fast and paid later. Splits: 3.32, 3.37, 3.43, 3.47, 3.49, 3.52, 3.55. Was aiming for 3.45s which is about the average of the above. This was hard work.

Bilbys warm up warm up/down 40:00 [3]

Some stretches and run-throughs. This was quicker than usual as we didn't have the usual stuff about activating our cores etc, just a few drills and run throughs building speed.

Running long 1:15:00 [3] 15.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 14

Longish run with sanders - up majura then hackett hill, ainslie from campell park side and back down the tricky track. Still quite wet from the rain yesterday. Legs felt quite stiff, especially hammies, no doubt a result of not doing anything since Tuesday
