Orienteering race (Summer series) 44:00 [5] 5.1 km (8:38 / km)
shoes: kayano 15

SS at bluetts west. It was rocky, grassy, hot and thick. No big mistakes but lots of wobbles and was scared of doing an ankle.

Running race (Crossy) 17:57 [5] 5.0 km (3:35 / km)
shoes: Brooks racer st2

Crossy at the boathouse. Had a meeting at work until 6pm, so got there just in time to get my name ticked off and jog to the start. It was a reversal of last week with fatrat running behind me on the way out then moving ahead at the turn and pulling away. About 8.45 to the turn and 9.12 on the way back into a slight wind. (I got 17.57 on my watch and 18.00 on the big clock). A 5k pb again, which is OK backing up after sunday morning's run.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks racer st2

Quite a long warm down with frogga. fatrat, sanders, mace and kate

Note
(rest day)

Started raining as I was about to ride HFW through the ridge, as I had my laptop in my bag decided that the wise choice was the non-troggable ride through O'Connor.

Running race (Deep space mountain marat) 1:29:42 [5] 19.0 km (4:43 / km) +650m 4:02 / km
shoes: kayano 15

This was the late start race (7.30) which is why I chose it. Was running with Lachy at first but then dropped him when the first climb steepened. There was a big descent into ororral valley which went pretty well apart from the steepest section where I nearly went over trying to brake on the downhill bit. Was 3 or 4 minutes in front at the turn with LHD a few minutes further back. The climb back up was looong, there were at least three times where I thought I could see the top only to be greeted with yet another hill. Finally saw the gate and drinks station at 3.5 ks from the end and hung on pretty well. Was pleased to break 90 minutes on a course that was a lot tougher than the orroral race last month.
